As bad as NoD's scheme was it was designed for LBs to eat.

Denzel made a lot of highlight plays but Shaq is the more consistent player. I would personally take Shaq over Denzel if I had to chose one. I also think Shaq will have a better NFL career.

They both started as true freshmen but Shaq started every game in his first 2 years without any injuries and put up better numbers in years 1 and 2.
Denzel blew up statistically in his 3rd and 4th years with over 100 tackles each year. Shaq is in his 3rd year and our defense is top 5. Although he only leads the team with 66 tackles in 10 games so far (projected 86), he has more TFL (11-5), Sacks (5-1.5) and FR (1-0). They are tied with 1 FF each and no ints. Denzel had 1 more PD (3-2). Denzel had some highlight hits but Shaq is slouch either when it come to hitting.

You could type up an entire treatise and Shaq still wouldn’t be in the same stratosphere as Denzel.

You also though Shaq is better than Devin Bush and would get drafted higher than him so no one should take you LB evaluations seriously.
Whoever listens to KC about prospects is on meth...........he said Malik was better then Russel Wilson and that Walton was better then Saquon. Kid is fried

Funny how some of you teeny boppers talk to people on the internet. Settle down Beavis.

Shaq has played 11 less games than DP and has more TFLs, Sacks, PDs, FRs.

But sure...I won't stop you from longingly watching Perryman highlights of him making big hits 8 yards downfield with your box of tissues and moisturizer

Shaq is nowhere the player or athlete as DP.

And comparing their stats is just stupid , beens DP played in a garbage scheme , that sat back and didn’t attack at all. I guess a qb who played under Leach at TT is better than A Rodgers at Cal....his stats were better bro.

You've missed the point made like 3 pages ago.

But you can run along with your straw man thinking you're the smartest guy in your cubicle.

Not near Perrymans level but a goo

I’ll give you 3-1 for 100$. He is going to test bad to average at best.

I love Shaq. Given our list of all time greats, he probably falls more around the DP level. All defensive players today suffer from playing under today’s touch football rules.
DP was a 1 man wrecking crew on a pathetic defense due to scheme...nope, don't agree

Not sure why some of you think Shaq is such a poor athlete and Denzel is such a great athlete?

Denzel at 22.4 years old put up these numbers at the NFL combine:
5'10.75", 236 lbs
40 Yard Dash: 4.78 seconds
Bench Press: 27 reps (225 lb)
Vertical Leap:32.0 inches

Shaq put up these number as a Senior in high School:
6'1", 239 lbs
40 Yard Dash: 4.73 seconds
Bench Press: 320 lb
Vertical Leap: 29 inches

Shaq came in as a 240 lbs guy who had to trim down and got quicker and faster while Denzel came in around 200 lbs and needed to put on weight and got slower. Athletically they are very similar in terms of size and speed. I do think Shaq will be drafted in the first 3 rounds as well. Time will tell.

I didn't realize the fanbase deified Denzel Perryman so much. He made a lot of splash plays but he was awful in coverage and had plenty of issues with play recognition and gap integrity. I don't think he ever shed a block either. He was just a more explosive version of Pinckney. An up-and-down player on terrible defenses doesn't deserve to be revered like this.

Shaq is stiff, hence why he struggles in coverage. The 40 you start one time, which doesn’t mean you can stop and go multiple times or Flip hips.

Shaq is a good college lb but will have major issues in the league , especially in coverage.

DP was a special player that got blown up to the 240’s and played in a god awful scheme.

There’s no comparison.

I thought you might be comparing him to David Perry.

Sean Spence put up better numbers. playing for perhaps the worst iteration of that same pathetic defense, than Perryman ever did in his entire career at UM. How come Spence ate and Perryman didnt? Probably because you're romanticizing how good Perryman was here.

DP is a **** man, I must admit. Spence was a stud as well...would fall in the same category as DP. I never mentioned Spence though, was comparing Shaq & DP.

You mentioned the scheme he played in held him back. Spence played in the same scheme and did even better than Perryman.

....so maybe it wasn't the scheme
