The only reason Golden has lasted so long was the **** NCAA investigation caused by Shannon's assistants. We had three years of NCAA crap because of people like Clint Hurtt all under Radio...F Him and Golden.

Shannon's biggest demise was the QB play, or maybe just the offensive play period. We at least had a pulse on special teams and defense. Right now we suck in all 3 phases of the game.

Usually when we lost a game under Shannon it was mainly do to our QB throwing 3+ interceptions.

Not saying Shannon was a great coach but he's better than Golden and it was his first HC gig.

No body of sound mind is saying Al should not be fired, so what is your point? Randy was a very bad HC without a clue and deserved to be fired. Al is very worse but had one clue -- get good lawyer -- and deserved to be fired after the Louisville bowl game or sooner. Our stupid, cheap, BOT keeping Al on last year and this does not mean Randy deserved more time or was worth anything as a HC. It simply means they are complete fools.
 
Where did I imply, much less say, that Shannon should have been retained for a second longer than he was? He was a terrible head coach, a disastrous hire.

I always thought it was inconceivable that any coach could be worse. But golden is even disproving that, and for ***** and giggles I was wondering if another objective measurement- ie mid-major losses- would add to the list.
 
People forget all too quickly how recruiting and weight room work ethic got worse each season under Randy

I never thought some one can assemble a worst group of assistants and then I met Goldy.

Shannon fires his boy Walton with the quickness.....golden has hatched his career next to a bum.

Shannon was a first time guy with no real coaching connects to pull from really because he was under Jimmy's tree.

Al is under al groh's tree a failure in the acc...that was my first question mark when we hired him for me. Al groh never was a threat in the acc

Shannon is a LB coach in college, that tells you his worth in the coaching world.
Golden will be in the same boat.

We have hired 2 of the worst HCs in college football.

I thought Jedd Fisch was a good hire. That's probably it. Jury is still out on DLine Coach and Beard.
 
LOL Randy beat FSU so he is better. they both stink, Randy was just fortunate that during his tenure FSU was equally as mediocre at the time. Next are we going to argue Al is better because he beat Florida and Randy didn't? of course not.

Golden has totally lost South Florida in recruiting. Typically when you rate the top 20 prospects in Dade/Broward County Miami would get commitments from 8-10 of these prospects a year. This pattern was true pretty much every year from recruiting rankings game out from Jimmy Johnson to Randy Shannon. Under Golden we are down to 3-4 of these type of commitments. We never have and never will locked up all the Dade County studs but if we hired Butch Davis literally HALF of the local 4 and 5 star recruits would start coming here by 2017.

Shannon is laughing his *** off at us now while working as a coordinator with a potential NC team. Of course he will always be a coordinator, but he is a decent one.

Severe lack of interpersonal skills didn't help his awful coaching here. He's better staying in the background.

They will be a bowl team. Is a loss that shouldn't have been, but it's not like we lost to UVA again.
 
If JH lost games for Shannon then he deserved it because he made a total commitment to JH. He promised the QB job to jack or without competition.
