Shannon Is Golden. Golden Is Shannon.

We need to figure out if we're gonna make a coaching change this year or not so we can hire the guy and let him have time to recruit. I don't wanna hire a guy after the season where he has maybe a month to recruit some. Do it now and give him time.
 
Different faults, same results.

I will say that, if he is gone at the end of the year, Golden will leave the program in healthier shape than his predecessor. Shannon basically stopped recruiting and had ****-poor strength and conditioning. And he would have been a disaster during the NCAA crisis.
 
Let me tell you something, when a Miami team play GT and we barely have any tfls, that sums it up. I really do believe they think the offense is the reason the defense gets killed. We smashed better GT teams under Randy, home and away. Held them to 91 yards rushing when they finished 11-3. We were second in the country in sacks and and first in tfls in Randy ' s last year. Vernon is pretty much the only one doing anything in the league. Which means we didnt have a bunch if hall of famers on that DL. Just better coaching. Chad Thomas would have been a beast under Randy. Look at that Freshman from Texas A&M. It's freaking disgusting that we have a veteran defense, 10 of 11 starters are upperclassmen and this is what we have to watch. We simply have no chance against any team that's decent. I hope we finish 3-9, God forgive me but am freaking tired of it. Just sick.
 
Shannon would have won 10 games with the talent on this team. guy wasn't the answer but amazingly was 10x better then Gorlden. Shannon's 9-4 season was much more impressive than Alfred's.

Theres some truth in that last sentence but its more of an indictment on Golden than a compliment to Shannon
 
I would welcome back Shannon as a DC gladly. When Golden leaves this program I want everything he ever touched burned, buried, or hauled out with the trash. I would donate his track suits to the homeless but that would insult them.

Shannon got Angry when the 'Canes lost. He didn't have the skill to make the losing STOP, but the attitude toward losing was sound.

Golden tries to make losses seem OK. He's more concerned with being blamed than he is with establishing a team culture that hates to lose.

To me, that's about as bad a quality as you can have in a UM head coach.
 
Anyone that wouldn't gladly take Shannon back over Golden is lying to themselves. Neither are the right guy for the U, and Randy's last year was a disaster, but at least he was someone we knew wanted to be here and turn things around.

Both are awful, but Golden has quit on this job and doesn't have the decency to step away. He could leave, work out a buyout, and this team would be in better position to succeed for the next coach than what he inherited. He does recruit better than Randy, but his coaching makes Shannon look like Vince Lombardi, which is pathetic.
 
Silly debate. It's like saying I'd rather have syphilis than gonorrhea. I don't want to see either one of these clowns anywhere near our beloved program.
