Are we sure mario is going to allow him to coach the offense the way he wants to?

Mario has zero experience in this type of system. Yes, he's giving the keys to the offense to Dawson. I'm not saying he's going to play pickleball during all the offensive meetings, but Dawson will be generating the gameplans and calling the plays.
