Shannon after UM commit on Gator bi-week

Randy got dem gayters playing defense...Wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get more than one to flip...Kids will play for Shannon instead of Don'to, because he knows what he's doing...

You do know that Shannon doesn't call the plays there right? Geoff Collins is their DC, Shannon is the LBs coach with some extra titles added to his name.

Randy coaches defense better than anyone on this staff.

His Lbs sure look good to at uf. He is co-dc i believe...they didnt have to add those titles to his name...Is Hurlie Brown co-dc here?

He sucked as a hc...but Randy is a solid to abovve avg dc imo. Simple...but solid.

No, he is not a Co DC, he is a LB coach.
Watch the game ..and they called him the co dc on air

Again in title only. If he was an above average DC, he would be a DC somewhere.

Shannon since fired has been a LB coach at TCU, Arkansas, and UF. That tells you what his value is in the coaching world.

Slow your roll on over-praising that Gayta D just yet. They looked real mediocre against the run against a junk Tennessee team and that performance against Ole Miss has pretty much been rendered meaningless. As for good ol' Corch Radio, he'd be at least a freakin' DC somewhere by now if really was this great coach.

you guys are missing the point...Randy Shannon can pull more guys from South Florida than any other schools recruiting staff..

Wish he would've done that when he was our coach.

Yea too bad the majority of our draft picks even from last years squad didn't commit to or sign with him. Most of the NFL players from the past 3 years were his guys. Some of you underestimated his pull. He was just a novice on the job.

He had his connections, but he also got lazy as well as alienated some schools in South Florida. I have no doubts that for all of Golden's whining and excuse making, that repairing relationships with high schools coaches was actually legitimate.

What are you talking about? Al isn't repairing anything. The coaches who once complained now have players on our roster so they are quiet but other coaches are now complaining. The alienation is overblown. Straight up exaggeration. We heard the same about Erickson, Butch, Coker, RS and we're hearing the same about Al. Disgruntled coaches always expressed themselves when they are disgruntled because their players didn't get offered. RS pulled in kids from all over south Florida if he felt they deserved a scholly. We may have disagreed with some of his evals but he went after who he wanted. He didn't want any of the Central kids or Columbus kids at that time. Their coaches were upset but he didn't neglect them. I clearly recall us checking out players like Jeff Godfrey when he was at Temple or Gore when he was at Columbus but those players never improved from a physical stand point since their 9th grade years.

Couldn't have said it any better
