Shalala sounding off on Twitter about the Marlins' sale...

I fault Dirty Donna for not fighting hard enough and even more so, for not have the vision of what the OB really meant to the city and the school. She never wanted UM football to be back on center stage and now we are back and we have no OB to play in. She should have been looking to the future when the Hurricanes would return to dominance (it is beginning) and seen that the $200M would have been beneficial to both city and UM. But them again, she hired Folden and extended his contract so I can see why she would not have this type vision.

Frenk > Shalala. Dude is making her look like a clown in just a couple of years. She’s done some good things but the trajectory the school is on now is insane.

Uninformed fans that like to hate disliked Tad Foote and Shalala. I guess Frank will someday be hated by uninformed immature forum fans.

Who da fawk is Frank? The current President on the University of Miami is Julio FRENK!!!

she quoted a Herald tweet stating that Loria is claiming he didn't make any $$ on the sale of the Marlins. Shalala said "for this they forced us out of the Orange Bowl. Outrageous!"

GTFOH Donna. You were all about the $$ and moving to that stadium. It made financial sense for the school at the time.. Stick to your guns and stop trying to appease us fans now.

You, and the people like you, are ignorant buffoons.

Dade County, and the people of Dade County, had already gone to the polls and APPROVED the bond measure to fund the Orange Bowl renovations.

The City of Miami had a SIGNED CONTRACT with Hammes, which the City of Miami paid over a million dollars to break.

The Latin Builders Association freaked the fvck out when the contract was awarded to an out-of-state company, and they were cut out of lucrative sub-contracts.

It's only a bunch of uninformed nutjobs who continue to push the false narrative that Donna Shalala is to blame for the Orange Bowl. For decades, under multiple UM presidents, the City of Miami broke its promises over and over and over again.

Shalala did not sign a deal with Joe Robbie Stadium until AFTER the City of Miami screwed UM over one final and monstrous time.

Look, if you're going to continue to repeat a lie, why don't you GET SPECIFIC about the specific actions that Shalala took. I will be happy to destroy your flimsy campaign of hatred and disinformation.

None of this makes Shalala the best UM president ever, or the greatest proponent of UM sports ever. But it's honesty. Shalala didn't do anything (or fail to do anything) that led to the destruction of the Orange Bowl. That is SOLELY on the City of Miami and the Latin Builders Association. Those are facts.

wow an informed blogger....not a fan of anyone who sucks at the Clinton Teet, but she was not the anti-football President she was said to be. She most likely because of her political connections saved the U's *** during the NCAA investigation. She took NO prisoners during that time, she learned well from the criminals she worked for!

You sound like a Georgia fan talking about Kirby Smart.

Without Frenk, we wouldn’t have a Pickle Richt. We’re thankful for you, bro

LOL. Our admin has always gone after Richt, we just got lucky that he was available this time. It's not like Frenk finally stole him from Georgia or something. Dude did literally nothing. If anything, Shalala brought in so much money to the athletics programs that we've finally had money to spend on a coach/assistants.

I’m not going to argue! I’m just happy we’re investing in athletics the way we need to. It drives recognition and applications when we are in the national spotlight. We’re relevant again. It’s been way too long.

The investment started years ago. You can credit the person who planted the seeds and caused the growth, or you can credit the person collecting the fruit. I'm just grateful that Richt became available because these jokers were about to throw it all away to Greg Schiano.

Yep. I'm far from being a fan of Donna Shalala, but she had nothing to do with the corrupt crap that went on for years in Miami before she was even here.

I look at where we are playing now and I consider us to be VERY fortunate. Now, if Shalala was to blame for us losing the OB, she should she not get credit for us playing at Hard Rock?

I'm a Miami fan and have been for years years now!! ALL I know is growing up watching Miami since the 90's and going back and watching highlights of the Canes in the 80's "THERE IS NO WAY" the Orange Bowl should have been torn down... That place carried the tradition of Miami football, believe it or not BUT after the OB was torn down, Miami football really struggled for it's identity!!

I'm not sure who deserves the blame for it, BUT that place should not have be torn down.. **I'm from Louisiana and the city of New Orleans would lose a lot if they was to tear down the Super Dome** It's just some places hold a lot of value to a community and a city and for Miami that was the Orange Bowl and losing that was basically the straw the broke the camel back!!

After Miami loss the OB the recruiting in and around Miami started to shift and schools came in Miami and started taking the best player's from Miami.. **A lot was loss with them tearing down the OB and Miami still suffering from that effect**

We struggled because we hired some terrible coaches, due to being extremely cheap. The OB had nothing to do with it. We STUNK before we left the OB, remember? 48-0 to Virginia ring a bell? The OB didn't make us, but rather we made the OB. When we stunk the OB didn't save us. The only magic in that place was our team.

*** her. This freak biches name shouldn't even be mentioned on this site. She's a big reason why Miami's football program was trash for as long as it was. Her and the other geeks who parlayed the success oaf the football into trying to make Miami Harvard. If you wanna do that that's fine but let the football team be dammit.

The OB was tradition for Miami, believe it or not BUT that place made The U!! Everything great about The U was from the OB, and ever since it has been torn down Miami haven't been the same!! NOW I definitely agree the coaches that was hired before CMR, was not good for Miami as well, BUT as much as we talk about tradition on here, we can't overlook what the OB did for the Miami Hurricanes football program.. The OB gave our Canes that home feeling, WIN or LOSE.. Former player's spoke about what tearing down the OB felt like to them, look at 30 for 30, a lot of former player's was very upset because they tore down the Miami tradition and the memories these players had from that place..

I got a perfect score on the reading comprehension section of the LSAT. Reading comprehension actually is my strong suit.

But you are whining like a little *****. Donna Shalala, with absolutely no negotiating leverage whatsoever (Orange Bowl being torn down, Coral Gables blocking ALL CONSTRUCTION on UM campus at the time) managed to get us more money in Joe Robbie than we were getting in the Orange Bowl.

You're whining because she didn't publicly shed tears? Because she took the sh!itty hand she was dealt and managed to get us more money?

There are so many people on this board who have no clue about reality, about facts, about what really happened with the Orange Bowl for decades. But, sure, we were supposed to conduct a "public relations campaign". Or Donna was supposed to wear sackcloth and ashes and publicly mourn for a year.

UM got screwed by the City of Miami, the city whose name we proudly bear even though we are in Coral Gables. Some of you curse Donna's name daily because of her political background, yet scream that she didn't do enough (politically) to reverse decades of the City of Miami ignoring UM's needs with the Orange Bowl.

It's never enough. BE SPECIFIC about what you think Donna Shalala "should have done". It's just ridiculous. The voters voted, and the politicians still screwed US ALL over. And Donna made the best deal she could, with zero alternatives.

Just stop the bullsh!te. If you want to hate Donna for 100 other reasons, fine. But the Orange Bowl issue is a joke.

C'mon, bro. If you are capable of scoring 100% on the reading comprehension portion of the LSAT, you should be intelligent enough to understand: (1) nobody (here) gives a **** about your LSAT score; (2) nobody (on Earth) likes people who brag about things like LSAT scores; and (3) especially when they're bragging about it on the internet. Then again, that sort of understanding might fall under the analytical reasoning portion of the LSAT, and you haven't told us how you did on that section (yet).

P.S. - Please do not follow up this post with your analytical reasoning score. I promise you nobody cares.

True. Miami is well known for it's criminal underworld and Politics play a huge role in activities. It's all about who can ***** who out of the most money legally while keeping their connections.

She’s a criminal, a fraud, a hoax, an idiot.... those are resume enhancers in the Democrat party. She will do well.

LOL and we're still talking about politics. Go put on Fox News and watch Cadet Bone Spurs talk about how many pornstars he's cheating on his wife with.

Jeffrey Loria is the worst thing to ever happen to Miami sports. Biggest POS and he pimped The City of Miami. It's disgraceful what he did and it makes me sick that we let him get away with it.
