Keep spinning on this, and any other negative thing that actually hurts this university's athletic program because of your pro-Shalala obsession.
Idon't know if its that you cover for ANY university President, ANY athletic director, ANY coach, or just NEED to spin spin spin.... I have no idea. It's really inexplicable.
This f'ing president is a massive failure to everyone, except the 10% of the pro-Shalala lunatics on the far left whocan't see straight. Which of course means 90% of this board and the moderators who's sole purpose seems to be to fan the spin and preserve this embarrassment to the site, the U, the community.
How utterly stupid to try to tie this in to politics. Clearly the real reason you don't like her, and wouldn't no matter what she accomplished at the school, is that she's "on the left." That you are so blinded by your extremism doesn't change the fact that she's a highly regarded university president, she's an excellent leader and has done a fantastic job. Even others on this board who are conservatives have overlooked the political differences and acknowledged as much.
And you're a person with a hateful agenda that's a detriment to my school, our fan base, and everything the U stands for. You have no problem flip-flopping, misleading the board and yourself, and just ****ting on everything and everyone. You're part of the problem, not the solution.
Your rant makes no sense. I have a "hateful agenda"? Really? You're the one spewing hate. I'm pointing out that Shalala is highly regarded for the job she did, while you are hung up on politics. "Your" school? Sorry, my school as well, and many others...and as I stated, Shalala is highly regarded by most students and alumni. "Flip-flopping"....not sure what you are babbling about. "Misleading"...how so? "****itng on everything and everyone"? No, that would be you. You're the one with the whiny, irrational, and negative attitude backed by your willful ignorance.
But there is a political element here. See, unlike any other successful football program, THE U came from the players, was built by the players, and continued by the players. That family, or gang if you prefer, mindset came from those kids. Ok, the university hired Howard and he did the job, but what came after was the kids. Mostly black kids accomplishing something more or less on their own(compared to all the other massive booster lead and tax supported institutions). What we had was something different than what is viewed on the left with favor. Minority, discriminated against victims raising themselves above all without the government or liberal establishment's assistance. I am a right wing Southerner and many of my own where annoyed by that very fact also. To use that old racist saying, they found our players "uppity". But while annoying to those types, the example of THE U was something deadly to the left. Bunch of frigging poor kids from the inner city kicking the living crap out of the entire college football world WITHOUT government assistance! That had to be stopped. They past rule against it, their press called for death penalty, the universality proclaimed embarrassment, ncaa tried to cripple it with sanctions for university administrative scandal(Pell), and still Butch gathered more kids and it revived. Enter the cooler, Donna. She built more buildings, sure. That is institutional aid and classic left wing method, but did she let those same kids in? She shows up for photo ops but what did she do to save the second most important element of our success, the OB. She didn't. That place and those kids ruled football for two decades. Left wing ideology only permits one ruler -- them. Kids gone, OB gone.
I don't care how many building she begged money to build, under her rule THE U has been destroyed. In the words of the biggest left winger of modern times, FDR: "In politics there are no coincidences, if it happens someone planned it!" THE U destroyed and institutional football factories like Bama back in charge. Nuf Friggin said!
