Senior Bowl Canes

According to Todd McShay, the following Canes are set to be at the Senior Bowl:

Reuben Bain
Akheem Mesidor
Keionte Scott


I’m sure there will be more but he was highlighting those three as an example of the attitude and competitiveness Mario has instilled in this program.

I did not think a three year player could be invited, thought they had to be RS-JR or SR (or older).

They changed the rule a couple of years ago for the senior bowl. Now, draft eligible guys who will be going into the draft can now participate.

They changed the rule recently. Within the last two years I believe. McShay also said Carson Beck is sitting on an invite.

Mesi can go from anywhere from 20th overall to 3rd/4th round so he should absolutely go and solidify his draft stock.

Scott has the most to gain as he’s sitting as mid to late Day 2 pick but with a strong showing at the SB, could rise to a 2nd rounder.

Bain - likely not the popular opinion, but I think he should sit this out, get 100% healthy and train for the combine. He’s already a as a 1st rounder and if he goes 1-10 vs 10-30, the combine can solidify that just as much as the senior bowl without the wear and tear of another game.

Not sure why those three agreed to the Senior Bowl. They already proved what they can do over the season, and especially in the last 4 games. Why risk injury? Especially for Bain and Mesidor who are projected as 1st round draftees. I view the Senior Bowl as a chance for lower-round or free-agent players to improve their draft stock.
