Secondary is going to be Nasty

I still believe this secondary is going to be nasty, just need to get and stay healthy so guys can play where they belong
I couldn’t agree more. Lucas will knock off the rust and we will get Antoine back soon with time to continue to gel together back there. Then OJ should be back somewhere around the end of the season/ACC title game. Just have to remain healthy.

Day was abused, molested and assaulted last week. Don't want to see him on the field unless we're up BIG!

Yeah he isn’t it. Safety depth is thin outside of JJ.

Day and Thornton can’t be trusted back there and none of the younger guys seem ready. It’s essentially Poyser, Fitz and JJ for safety in my opinion.

Poyser plays the nickel, in my opinion he is the best option on the roster for that position. Poyser played nickel exclusively at Jacksonville State. That is where they were playing him before Fitz got hurt vs FSU.

Here is how I see it
Boundary CB: Xavier Lucas, 6-2 203
Field CB: Ethan O'Connor, 6-1 195
Nickel: Zechariah Poyser, 6-2 200
Boundary Safety: JJ Dunnigan, 6-3 205
Field Safety: Bryce Fitzgerald, 6-1 188

Miami can be nasty with this line up, this put everyone where their skill set can shine. Use Omar as a situational blitzer and run defender.

He had a bad game against FSU, but he look really good against Clemson. He isn’t consistent enough yet to start but he brings enough to be a quality backup. To have him as your 3rd guy, put this team in a really good position.

From my memory he was tight on Becker every single time, just they were all back-shoulders and Becker is a beast.
Becker has literally never dropped a ball that touched his hands. Can't recall a better wide receiver on those back shoulder throws to the sideline. Just automatic. Even Hoover is hitting those back shoulder bailouts on 3rd and long to Becker and its just chain moving.

No shame in getting Moss'd by Charlie Becker...he's done it to everyone no matter how good the coverage. Becker gets a ton of PI calls, too.

I thought our secondary looked like **** against FSU. If we don't clean this up and get some consistency back there we will be in trouble.
But, I think this game against Pitt may give these guys some time to gel and get comfortable playing together. They better get better. And we don't have forever to see positive results.
Pitt has nothing to lose and will take advantage of our secondary. They know they cannot run on us. They will throw the ball and hope for results that we/they saw last week. They are not pushovers either. And they will start the 5th year senior Heintschel over the freshman Dailey. So there's that. I would have rather faced Dailey.
FSU made us look bad back there. Missed tackles and wide open receivers were a big part of this game and the reason it came down to the wire.
