I believe you, of course. It’s probably a little of both. Hometowns can sometimes be complicated, especially when you’re younger. With age, nostalgia sets in.

I do think it’s so weird how they all (cough, ESPN, cough) talk about the “Won’t Back Down” thing like it’s this long-standing tradition that they’ve done forever, when it’s only been around a few years. And they didn’t start it until after he died! Other sports do it too, not just the football team.

I don’t see the issue here. If they weren’t good enough to make an NFL roster, are they really moving the needle that much for any team that takes them?

Also, are you going to start them over a player who stayed the course, paid his dues in offseason workouts, showed up and worked hard all spring and fall camp? How’s that going to sit with that player’s teammates?

Plenty of elite college players didn’t make NFL rosters so in TrumpyCanes opinion it’s a silly argument
 
Life is just weird. How about this - LSU gets kicked out of the SEC and they join the ACC along with ND. LSU and Lane in the same conference as UM and Mario would be must see TV!
 
Am I the odd man out that think these kids should be able to play? I don't like the slippery slope, but a dumbass rule was passed late and many of these kids would have never left to begin with.

Yes, the NCAA sucks. No, these men (they are not kids) should not be able to play.

So a kid who wasn't good enough to get signed who worked at 5 guys can come back once the NCAA says they can have another year, but these "men" can't? 5th year for all or none in my opinion for that class.

Let them play. Maybe make calls like this before ******* draft season next time. Or the men can simply sue and the NCAA can pay them for lost NIL and the men sit. Either way, the NCAA ****ed up

I think that’s most people’s stance. Had these guys had another year I’d warrant most would’ve stayed in school. Even as good as Bell has looked so far, I’d bet he would’ve stayed another year and possibly moved into R1 territory.

But announcing it in the middle of fall camp and just saying hey, good luck. Is some **** ****. I mean this even screwed NBA players as well. There’s no reason this couldn’t have been done in March.

I don’t care if these dudes go back to college. I personally wouldn’t go after them as recruits if I was an HC. Too much craziness imo. I mean imagine if we were trying to add guys and we kickoff in 21 hours. It’d be an absolute cluster. It’s not surprising at all a greasy slime ball like Lane is doing this.

Because the dude at 5 Guys didn’t get NFL training/coaching for a few months; these guys did. If you can’t see the competitive advantage there, not sure what to tell you.

NCAA absolutely f’d the timing on this, but I’m not certain they didn’t want more chaos to convince more people to approve the bill.

Stop saying kid. They are not kids. They are grown *** men in their early 20’s. Harris and Wright are both 23 years old. No one at all calls NFL rookies “kids”, but 23 year old is suddenly still a “kid” if they are playing college football.

Had either of these guys made NFL rosters they would not be suing to come back to college ball. They need to take their lumps. Life sucks, get a **** helmet.

Most parents call their children who are still in college kids.

This isn't 1940 where most were going off to war at 18.

**** you can't smoke or drink til 21 now.

They're kids. Immature kids.
