Searles

I moved from Florida where I always grew up in areas that were 60% black or more... I am in the west Bay Area Cali and outside of 5 Stanford players there are none... effin dull ... no one gets my humor over here... no one knows anything about real hip hop. Have to drive 2 hours for soul food outside of my own kitchen. Crazy rich Asians ova here.

Searles has had a long, mostly mediocre career. His underachieving lines far outnumber his performing lines over the course of his career. How many of those powerhouse programs he's coached at actually had good offensive lines under him? Not a lot. I was skeptical of his hire by Richt, the whole thing stank of the good old boy club.
Kehoe has actually coached much better lines than anything Searles has done but he couldn't sniff the P5 offers Searles gets because he's not in the club.

You feel free to look at our tackle depth. While I look at that, look at the prospects who have come out of miami, broward, palm beaches etc(our recruiting base) any of the surrounding areas richt would let us focus on and tell me where there is room for improvement from some huge country ***(like Jethro bodine level of country)white dude to hit on elite or even **** good prospects(while ur at it throw in the kids who wanted a pay day too.) If I'm not being clear I'll spell it out for u. I dont care if jesus is our offensive line coach. If jesus is told to recruit oline out of this area he will NEVER succeed on consistent basis. 9.9 kids out of this area are severely undersized as oline and they soft. Dont have that kind of grit that nesta does and the ones that do have small arms etc. Kids with the build we need to really succeed dont come from this climate. If what I'm saying doesnt compute I dont know what to tell you. Just look at the schools that consistently have good oline play. Several common factors. #1 they spend what's necessary on any national recruits. #2 they focus on big *** corn fed country boys(like searles and what he relates to obviously). On top of all that searles is very direct and didnt sugar coat ****. These kids want their hands pat while they're corrected. They wanna be coddled.

OT:

If Jesus were the OL coach, would he turn sideline gatorade into wine?

😇🙏🙌

Keep it real for Lompoc!

Nobody f[]cks with the 805.

people who say searles cant recruit are a little off here.
Herbert was flipped from Michigan and highly regarded but has injury problems.
Vaughn, Reed, Campbell, and scaife were highly regarded.
he also got gaynor.
he didnt get enough and clearly isn't an exact science but the guy didnt do bad on the trail.

also its not always the position coach that lands the kid.
Michigan dropped herbert. Campbell was a 3 star and miami was gaynor best offer.

Nah. People are missing my point In this. I wasnt saying barry isnt good or wont do good here. Hes another dude people i value opinions from has spoke up for. Same people spoke up for searles though. I'm just saying searles wasnt anywhere near as big a problem as people believed. My personal opinion is taylor will be. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Why do you think Taylor will be a problem? And a problem developing players or recruiting?

Probably can't/don't want to divulge much, but is Hightower and the rest of the boys underwhelmed thus far?

Herbert was DROPPED from Michigan.

And you just agreed with us....you named a bunch of guys that arent Tackles..witht he best being Scaife who is currently aguard.

Searles loves size....i remember looking at the Tarquin kid we had committed who flipped to UF and watching him get abused by DE's like Donnell Harris who was like a sophomore in pass pro and thinking, what other than size makes that kid a Tackle because he needs ALOT of work.

He loves these big bodies out wide at tackle but apparently doesnt look at Feet. I called what Herbert would be when he committed to us b4 any injuries. Watched him alot at Heritage and he never had "4 star feet". Nesta was a better OL than him honetsly at the time.

Alot of Searles guys at Tackle are straiiight up projects. Thats what i saw with Herbert, Hillery, Tarquin. Campbell is young so the jury is out. He looked really bad in that first game though but has a load of time to turn it around.

Technical/coaching issues or relationship building (I only thought the latter would be the issue)?

bs on Herbert. My buddy knows one of there coaches. his kid is going there.
Michigan coaches slowed up contact with him once they got a couple higher rated guys. When the contact slows up what does that mean?

Since u say this & U know football I'll have this conversation with u brother. Realizing where we insist on focusing our recruiting budget & deployment of such assets, what kid FROM THIS AREA isn't a project as a tackle (on either side of the ball)? This area we focus on specializes in fast twitchy undersized kids... when is that ever a good strategy for interior line play? It is the sole reason ALL of our tackles are projects outside of average coaching. You can also factor into it the coaching at the high school level here as every position at majority of schools has coaches unqualified for the positions they are at. See the theme here? Personally as long as we focus on florida kids at the line were gonna be average at best. But I'd settle for an average oline right now

How the **** did he get the UNC OL coaching job?

Stacey is a good ol' boy. And the head coach for Carolina Blue, also, is a good ol' boy. dUh. In other words, these good ol' boy's take CARE of THEIR OWN. In all facets of employment. dUh.

You are King for day...how do you fix OL?

I hear you but.....

In 2020: We are about to miss out on likely 2 bookend tackles in south florida. Praying we land one of them

in 2019: Two Ol drafted from Florida in the top 3 rounds. With 1 being a kid that was committed that we got beat out for by Go Gatuh. Jawaan Taylor and Yodny Cajuste. Cajuste is a Miramar kid that we didnt even smell. Miramar is walking distance from our stadium.

in 2018: Another 2 draftedd in the top 3 rounds. Isaiah Wynn and Geron Christian. 2 guys im sure couldve helped us. Wynn we got beat out for, Christian cant rememver what we did there.

in 2017: Forrest Lamp. A UM drop was a top 2 round draft pick.

In 2016: Laremy Tunsil was bought by Ole Miss. Was a 1st rounder.

With the weight restrictions being lifted..south florida and florida in general are putting better numbers forward and better players on the line. We suck and identifying them, landing them, or developing them.

There are some straight dogs on the lines coming down the pike and we likely struggle to land half of them and thats locally. **** they can literally land 1 kid from STA every class and put out a respectable oline.

When it comes to allocation of funds though im with you....i will spend all my money NATIONALLY on the trenches....you can literally live with 3 star skill guys here....but you need to land big dogs int he trenches and when they are there ...YOU HAVE TO LAND THEM (ISSIAH WALKER, DUMERVIL, TATE)

I move Scaife to Left Tackle. Use Nelson as a swing tackle and allow someone else to fight for the guard spot...whether it is (Hillery, Reed, Traore, Dykstra). We literally lived at guard with Jahair Jones and Hayden Mahoney last year, those 2 arent/werent world beaters....but you literally couldnt walk out there with what you had at Tackle. He doesnt have prerequisite height for the position...but your about to be at the point whjere the walls will be closing in on the qb with the guys we have outside. We need 1 vet out wide at Tackle imo.

I mean Dugans didn’t develop anybody last year or the previous year in 2017 so its premature to make a comment like that. Let’s let this year play out a little bit man lol. In regards to recruiting that remains to be seen too tbh but I like who we have committed right now and especially like how Stubblefield pulled Michael Redding.

I know This reservation of Stubblefield probably stems from tate playing over our other receivers game 1(hope it doesn’t happen again and I definitely don’t agree with that approach) but pretty sure manny Diaz loves tate martell and has some influence over who plays in that room ultimately. So I’m not faulting Stubblefield much on that decision tbh. I do hope that gets fixed soon and the guys behind the starters are given a chance to produce.
