What exactly is there to be a fan of?

I'm not a fan of any of them, except Terry.

But if they're going to hire someone from outside & keep TJeff at Nickels, then might as well be Kobie Jones.

Pat SR. has scouted nothing but absolute DUDS during his tenure at FSU. His CB recruiting was 4-day old hot garbage in the dumpster behind the restaurant.

The only good Corners FSU had were transfers.

Was Surtain not the one that brought in Azareye'h Thomas, Renardo Green, and Jarrian Jones? (I have no idea).

Also who the **** is the dude thats been coaching/developing/FINDING Arizona/Washington DBs? Get that dude in.

Mario really should have jumped at Corey Raymond when he had the chance. idc who was already in the picture and who the DC was.... That was a big mistake imo.

Azareye'h Thomas - Marcus Woodson
Renardo Green - Harlond Barnett
Jarrian Jones - Miss ST transfer

DeWayne Walker is the guy who found the Washington & Arizona corners, John Richardson is the one who's been coaching them. Both are strictly West Coast guys.

Corey Raymond only wants to be at LSU. The only reason he was at UF for that short stint, is because Big Game Brian Kelly's ego wanted to be in control when he first got to LSU & let CR go, but had to bring him back because his CB recruiting & scouting suffered for it.

CR bleeds Purple & Gold, he's retiring there.

I’m a novice, this is your field of expertise. Appreciate the insight. Should the emphasis of this hire be more of a recruiter then coach? Maybe it’s naive but this veteran group doesn’t seem like they need as much coaching and the focus should be on refilling the tank with recruits

He SIGNED duds at FSU. Doesn’t necessarily mean he ONLY scouted them. I’m pretty sure he was recruiting some really good players, too….but The good kids were choosing to play for the good teams. You can say that about every position at fsu nowadays, lol.

Mario sure is consistent lol. It’s frustrating that these always take so long with him, but he’s earned my trust.

He signed duds, but was recruiting really good players too...

Which means he didn't sign the really good players?

So, what would he be getting credit for?

Sounds like giving an A for effort, which is nice for elementary school children I guess...

I kinda want the CB's Coach of the team to be, you know, good at his job... But that's just me, I understand my standards are a little higher than most of you guys.

Not really.

Recruiting in this era is done mostly by NIL.

CB Coaches primary job will always be refining technique & developing talent.

You don't really need salesmen anymore because in the NIL/Portal era, it's basically just a year by year agreement anyway. You can sign a 5-star kid & if he doesn't play, there's a high probability he'll leave.

In this era, you want position Coaches/Coordinators who can maximize the talent they have.

I doubt Mario would go into the season with one less coach than last year, if they keep T Jeff than maybe another coach at a different position is added.

To be fair. Jesus would have a hard time convincing big time talent to sign with FSU

This doesn’t make much sense considering Wadood has been at Oregon for his whole collegiate coaching tenure, recruiting is paramount to the position group, and accolades (such as his recent one) are part and parcel of a resume.
