People who complain are the type who like the "big splash" hirings. That's worked well with other soFla teams in the past. Sometimes "big splash" is more like a double-deuce deposit to toilet.
I'm good with this hire.
He's worked hard for this and he has done well.

TrumpyCane thinks people forget about or "all star coaching staff" from 2022
 
Not crazy about it but not mad at all, seems like he earned it. Probably will be hiring another db coach this offseason cause i doubt harris wants to stay in college lol

Agreed. Nationally, CB coaching is down across the board. The good ones are now DCs or Co-DCs that we weren't getting. Then, there are tons of guys I would never want near this program, a group of others that are decent but just true journeyman and wouldn't be an upgrade to Jefferson anyway, and then the select few guys that aren't coordinator level and are actually good and could have been better (Torrian Gray, Mike Reed, and really only a few others).

There really wasn't the obvious choice like Etheridge this time around. Better than Surtain or DVD or any of these other names that get tossed around.
 
I played kickball with Terry a number of years ago at an event for Demetrius Jackson, and have met him a couple of other times. He's a really good and personable dude, and I'm really happy with the hire.

Plus Heatherman probably shouldn't be expected to stay. And Taylor keeps flirting with NFL, and if he didn't receive a promotion to DC or something here I could see him being gone too. And his son should be graduating from here this yr as well....

I could see a LOT of staff turnover next yr... Offense too
 
I like the hire, think he will do well. Not a fan of how it was handled though.

This should have been done before spring practice started and it should have been messaged as the next great coach at UM getting his opportunity that was well earned. Accurate or not, the way Mario waited and waited on it leaves the optics that this was a backup plan after others turned the position down.
 
Thomas Jefferson's great nephew. Main home in Virginia. Has vacationed in Florida for years. Expected to "fit in."
