Search for New Position Coaches

I haven’t seen a consolidated thread focused solely on the search for new position coaches.

Pete mentioned a couple of interesting tidbits on this morning’s podcast. First, there might be more moves pending. Will Harris was the most likely departure given his publicized interests in the past. To be clear, this was mostly speculation, so don’t misconstrue this point as gospel.

Lastly, Pete said we missed on our top candidate already for one of the opening spots (either a RB coach or TE coach). No names were mentioned.

While D$ wasn’t remotely concerned, Pete did express some ajida over how long Mario’s searches generally take and the urgency of spring football and recruiting.

Any whispers on who me might have missed out on?

It's the same story with Mario and his prolonged coaching searches.
In fairness to him this time, it was a long season and there may be other variables to hiring an assistant at this point in time as it would be foolish to hire a coach when other coaches, especially their prospective coordinator may be leaving.
I get the frustration from us fans, but this time the culprit lies with the NCAA and their goofy schedule.
Think of other coaches who have had to replace assistants after spring ball, even into summer thanks to aholes in the NFL.

Maybe Brandon Harris (UiF) and Pat Surtain get a look for the vacant DB spot.

Given Mario’s prior timelines, gotta think we are only on Option B for the TE Coach and still kicking the tires on Option A for the RB coach.

since deleted but i'd guess we were one of those schools trying for the TE coach + partial recruiter of that #1 class.

Won't be hard to fill these positions.... Top tier National Title contender, live in Miami and now producing 1st round picks/have elite positional talent, top level position coach pay, also now quick access to becoming a position coach in the NFL. Oh no, sounds terrible.
