Sean McDonough and Greg McElroy to call Miami vs. Notre Dame

Won’t matter from my seats.
I’ll be whispering and sucking on throat lozenges for 2 days after.

McDonough is elite. Y'all are nuts. Newhouse ftw

Don't watch the NHL, but I did tune in for US vs. Canada in the Four Nations tournament in February — and McDonough was fantastic. Just calling the games, no moaning,, no ego-driven pontificating, no second-guessing on every frickin' thing.

Bring back that Sean McDonough -- and I'd agree with you. He would be an elite PxP announcer.

Wish it would happen

Won’t matter who is announcing I plan on screaming LIGHT WEIGHT BABY all ****** night

Sadly I won’t be in attendance but I can bring the energy regardless

How we looking as far as selling out?

My guess is 3K - 4K on the secondary market and maybe 500 or so left of Miami's website. Secondary market will stay pretty active for the next few days. Let's put it this way, Ohio State vs Texas has probably 5K - 6K tickets available on the secondary market right now. Prices have started to come down, thank god, so that should help.

I'm gonna say this. Miami selling club level seats on their website for $600 is ridiculous. Selling upper deck for $300 is even more ridiculous. I'm sure the thinking there is sell as many as you can and then dump them on the secondary market later this week but still.

Thanks for the breakdown, just hoping for a similar crowd to 2017, I really tried to make it this year but didn't work out

McElroy is solid.

But not sure why ESPN pays for a color commentator or an officiating analyst when McDonough is in the booth for a college football game.

Instead of focusing on his play by play role, he insists on injecting his opinion into every single element of the broadcast. Basically the grumpy old ******* unwilling or incapable of STFU who sucks any joy out of the broadcast
100%. It's such a contrast. McElroy is fair and always positive. McDonough is such a negative person. He'll start the broadcast with the failure of Miami at Syracuse (his alma mater), then he'll question whether Miami can hang with ND as such a big underdog (in his mind). He'll focus on the poor play of the secondary, then cast doubt on whether the defense is fixed. He'll, move onto how Miami has never won the ACC questioning whether the goose egg will continue being such a big underdog to Clemson (in his mind).

McDonough drains the soul out you listening to him.

I shall be at the game to enjoy the victory in person and then on the Monday morning following I shall awake and watch the DVR of the game on mute with a spliff in my phalanges whilst listening to The Dark Side of the Moon anxiously awaiting the thawing of my ribs and chicken, tending to a nice cool adult beverage and thanking our Good Lord for another beautiful day in sunny South Florida.

Sean McDonough and Greg McElroy are on the call for Sunday’s game against Notre Dame.

Miami Herald reporter Barry Jackson was first with the news.

This isn’t just another opener. Notre Dame has never beaten Miami in Miami Gardens, and the Hurricanes are hoping to keep it that way in front of an orange-out crowd at Hard Rock Stadium.

With CJ Carr making his first start at quarterback for Notre Dame and Miami looking to slow down one of the best offenses in the country, this game already has storylines everywhere. McDonough and McElroy bring the big game excitement, and fans watching at home will get every moment of the action.

Sean has always despised Miami, so this is going to make watching at home a tougher deal. Oh well. McElroy is pretty good so maybe he will balance things out
