I was the biggest Jake fan. I still think he would have been the starter with Rhett if he hadn’t got hurt and had to to sit out that week TVD went off. L
Having said that last year he lost all confidence (due to terrible scheme) and wasn’t the same player. The coaches really had no choice but to list him behind JB down the stretch.
) is among the bigger pieces of **** Ive seen in an industry largely populated by pieces of ****.Otherwise, what’s the difference between saying Brian Balom is a better Safety than Kam Kinchens & should start ahead of him?
My point exactlyCome on now, lol
Gattis was a total fraud and Mario **** the bed with that hire.I can't say that I share the opinion that he needed to be listed behind Brown after the season/going into spring. Brown did nothing to earn the #2 spot.
And yes, what josh gattis did to Jake Garcia was criminal. The FSU game alone still makes me want to run into gattis in an alley somewhere. Puts Garcia into the game on 3rd and long deep in our own territory and expects him to hit a 15 yard pass in his first play of the game. Then instead of putting Garcia back in the game on the next drive and let him throw a 2 yard hitch to get some confidence back, gattis benches him for a quarter and a half, then puts him back in the game on 3rd and 15 and expects him to hit a 15 yard pass play, again cold. Gattis (the only reason I'm capitalizing his name here is because its the start of a sentence) is among the bigger pieces of **** Ive seen in an industry largely populated by pieces of ****.
With our new OC, tell me that Jake's skillset wouldnt be better suited for this offense than some low probability project who's so tough that he's begging for a redshirt instead of fighting for the starting job.
Gattis caused more harm to this program than the results of his one pathetic year here.
Biggest difference is that Kinchens was an All-American, while Parish wasn't close to that, and doesn't have the potential to be that.Otherwise, what’s the difference between saying Brian Balom is a better Safety than Kam Kinchens & should start ahead of him?
WaitHow is me saying he needs to prove it first hating???
The point I was making was people are already putting him ahead of RB’s who have produced & basing it on nothing.
Parrish gets hated more than any other player on this team, while simultaneously being the most productive back we have, juxtaposed to people talking about Chaney as if he’s actually done something in his career when he hasn’t at all.
If I was hating, I wouldn’t have said he needs to prove it, I would’ve said he’s just an overrated JAG that can barely every stay healthy & isn’t worthy of the hype. Me saying he needs to prove it first actually gives the opportunity for him to prove it.
As far as “letting fans root for who they want”, I’m not stop anybody from doing anything, I simply countered a narrative that I keep seeing repeated about 2 players that are unwarranted.
The only thing stupid is you not understanding the context of my comments & then trying to tell me I’m hating when I was literally as high on Chaney as any on the board coming out of HS. I’m not “triggered” by Chaney love because I’m not anti-Chaney, I’m pro logic & it’s illogical to elevate a player that’s been injured his entire career & hasn’t produced over someone who has been available & has been productive. Prematurely hoping that Chaney overtakes Chaney is the same as saying, “I hope Emory Williams ends up starting over TVD!” That’s stupid.
He is running 3rd at Mizzou so far in fall camp.Jake Garcia's name has to be mentioned here. I know a lot of folks dont think he was worth much but he would have provided the perfect QB2 - QB3 battle partner for Emory Williams. In my opinion the staff failed on this one by listing Jacurri Brown as QB2 at the end of the season. As well, the marketplace seemed to value Garcia as he went to an SEC school and is in contention for the starting job.

I read 2 days ago he was running 3rd in reps at Mizzou. That's not what I read just yesterday. He's currently in the mix for the starting spot.
Jake hit the Portal in part because he didn’t want to sit behind TVD another year and in larger part because Jacurri was made QB2 (and started in front of Jake). The coaches did that in part in a desperate attempt to establish the running game (and Jacurri is clearly better at that aspect) and in part because Jake was prone to turnovers. The problem was that was effectively like showing Jake the door. It sent a clear signal that he might not play meaningful minutes even if TVD wasn’t available.I read 2 days ago he was running 3rd in reps at Mizzou.
[BGCOLOR=initial]Bottomline is Garcia did not want to sit behind TVD a 3rd straight year.[/BGCOLOR]

No, the bottom line is that Garcia got ****ed by one of the most incompetent offensive coordinators this side of Patrick Nix and felt that he would be stuck behind a kid who's currently begging for a redshirt. lol
Jake got hosed at UM. Plain and simple. Whether he pans out or not, he's a far better QB than Jacurri Brown in any competent system.

I appreciate the fact you are pro-Chaney like me. I personally believe he's the best RB we have on roster by far if he can just stay healthy.
But I think you misinterpreted what Memnon wrote. He wasn't hating on Chaney, just saying Parrish has produced whereas Don hasn't. I've never seen Memnon criticize a recruit or player, tbh.
Did you not watch the MTSU game?
And Mario would be the first guy in line to tell you that you’re absolutely right.Gattis was a total fraud and Mario **** the bed with that hire.
MTSU wasnt on Steele...Did you not watch the MTSU game?
