I can't say that I share the opinion that he needed to be listed behind Brown after the season/going into spring. Brown did nothing to earn the #2 spot.

And yes, what josh gattis did to Jake Garcia was criminal. The FSU game alone still makes me want to run into gattis in an alley somewhere. Puts Garcia into the game on 3rd and long deep in our own territory and expects him to hit a 15 yard pass in his first play of the game. Then instead of putting Garcia back in the game on the next drive and let him throw a 2 yard hitch to get some confidence back, gattis benches him for a quarter and a half, then puts him back in the game on 3rd and 15 and expects him to hit a 15 yard pass play, again cold. Gattis (the only reason I'm capitalizing his name here is because its the start of a sentence :05.18-flustered: ) is among the bigger pieces of **** Ive seen in an industry largely populated by pieces of ****.

With our new OC, tell me that Jake's skillset wouldnt be better suited for this offense than some low probability project who's so tough that he's begging for a redshirt instead of fighting for the starting job.

Gattis caused more harm to this program than the results of his one pathetic year here.

Gattis was a total fraud and Mario **** the bed with that hire.

Biggest difference is that Kinchens was an All-American, while Parish wasn't close to that, and doesn't have the potential to be that.

People like Chaney over Parish because he has more potential and overall athleticism. I personally have always thought pure speed at RB is extremely overrated, Though if you got someone insanely fast and has great acceleration with great vision, you really got something special. But Speed score is actually a pretty good metric for RBs. And Chaney is much faster and quite a bit heavier than Parrish at the same height, which would give him a far better speed score. If you just want to look at production, compare their freshman years - Chaney was superior to Parrish. From there its been a tale of health, which is a serious knock on Chaney, and win in the comparison for Parrish. Parrish was just straight up solid last year. A little disappointing in the pass game though.

Parrish is a trustworthy back who you can count on to do the right thing most of the time and will pick up more yards than you'd expect him to. But he isn't special, and doesn't really have the potential to be. So he gets dismissed a lot. He is the type of RB you like to have, but more as an insurance depth piece. You don't want Parrish to be your starting RB. You WANT a guy like Chaney to be your starting RB. And last year it made sense why the hype was on Chaney - and Citizen. But this year, it's time to **** or get off the pot for Chaney - and next year Citizen will be in the same position. Anyone who misses 2 full seasons shouldn't have any major expectations, and if yr 3 turns out to be a dud, than its time to move on. I hope Chaney and Citizen get fully healthy, because I'd prefer the chance that we have an A talent at RB rather than the guaranteed B- that is Parrish - but I would not be sold on Chaney/Citizens chances today. I'd put better odds on Allen and Fletcher by the end of the season to be the guy.
 
Man Karen complaint. The program needs some public juice, I don't care or trust any written word about said scrimmage.

I don't like the lack of media, highlights, positive eye candy. Anything, just so the theatre must be good you've got to show this team will run a compentant offense.

Just doesn't sit with me. I'd be the last ******* to hide any possible media coverage of a scrimmage to change the narrative. Miami goes deep 6. I've seen this too many times now. Weird AF.

Prematurely hoping that Chaney overtakes Chaney is the same as saying, “I hope Emory Williams ends up starting over TVD!” That’s stupid.

The oddest part of the lead back debate is how we seem to viewing it as one positions despite our staff recruiting for two.

Thunder: Fletcher/Chaney/Citizen
Lightning: Parish/Allen/Johnson

Parish becoming the last man standing last year with a relatively low ceiling but high floor from the smaller archetype skews it a bit, but it seems like our roster construction splits it into two.

He is running 3rd at Mizzou so far in fall camp.

Jake hit the Portal in part because he didn’t want to sit behind TVD another year and in larger part because Jacurri was made QB2 (and started in front of Jake). The coaches did that in part in a desperate attempt to establish the running game (and Jacurri is clearly better at that aspect) and in part because Jake was prone to turnovers. The problem was that was effectively like showing Jake the door. It sent a clear signal that he might not play meaningful minutes even if TVD wasn’t available.

While Emory is showing some accuracy & poise for a young QB, we are now missing an experienced QB2. I would have started Jake (and had some special packages for Jacurri) last year when TVD went out with an injury. The decisions made by Gattis effectively pushed Jake out the door (which was a bad mistake).

No, the bottom line is that Garcia got ****ed by one of the most incompetent offensive coordinators this side of Patrick Nix and felt that he would be stuck behind a kid who's currently begging for a redshirt. lol

Jake got hosed at UM. Plain and simple. Whether he pans out or not, he's a far better QB than Jacurri Brown in any competent system.

The coaches ****ed up the QB room and at least 3 QBs…absurd

And like Jake or not, the way he was handled and specifically the game you mentioned was ****ery

I read your posts as emotional. They didn't come off to me as being purely logical. You can be logical & critical without being unnecessarily animated or antagonistic about it. I don't think those post deserved the reaction you had to them. If you were aggravated & it was about that narrative & not about Chaney's unavailability then I'm wrong, sorry.

At the end of the day people are gonna have their favorites & biases. Nothing to be upset about. I can be logical & say Parrish is a very valuable as a reliable back that keeps you ahead of the chains while also expecting/hoping that Chaney will live up to expectations.

I'm not pro Chaney though. I just think we can talk about Chaney without needing to **** on Parrish & vice-versa. Could be that I misinterpreted it but the anti-Parrish posts I saw in this thread just seemed like silly fan wishful thinking whereas Memnon seemed to be aggravated about Chaney being propped up unrealistically.
