SCRIMMAGE 2

I'm telling yall Amari Carter is going to make serious noise this season, don't care where he's listed at on Depth Chart.

You simply cannot keep his IQ off the field. Kids like him who are ferocious tacklers & great in the classroom always come up when you need them the most.

I know he was playing with 2nd team Defense, but I definitely think he'll get in the Safety rotation this season.

Even next year when the 2018 kids get here, I think Amari will be a starter as a Sophomore, he's physically built & he diagnoses plays like an upperclassmen.

I just posted what I posted before I read this.......I feel the same way about AC

Anyone know if there were any injuries and whats the status of Cager? He has not caught a ball in 2 scrimmages now

Yes he has. They just don't track and release every single stat in the scrimmage. In the videos of scrimmage one, he caught a ball from perry on a nice deep out route and I think I saw him catch another one as well.

That's a lot of tackles for loss by our secondary. I wonder why so many?

All I know is we have no shot with Sherriffs after we found out dude wasn't even athletic and could not throw on the run w/ the addition of having a noodle arm there just isn't anything I can see that he brings to the table. People are forgetting that QB aren't live so QB don't really try to run. Rosier has thrown for the most yards by far then you have to take into account that he is a QB that can run. I wonder if people ever thought that some of Malik picks are forced because he isn't necessarily deciding to run because it not live? I mean look at Louisville last 2 spring games for example. Lamar Jackson basically never runs but we all know that 50% of his game is running. Get what I mean? Maybe in a actual game some of those Int he threw won't be a problem because he'll be more inclined to just run instead of throwing it up for grabs trying to impress the coaches.

I get what you mean. But Rosier was putting the ball at risk up until now, not to mention that he's too short to loft it over the outstretched arms of guys like Thomas and D Jackson. He'll make more plays but has his own sets of limitations. Shirreffs may have a noodle arm but he's heady and distributes the ball better. With guys like Richards, Herndon, Berrios, Thoams, Harley, Walton, etc, he doesn't have to throw a 40 yarder on a rope to generate scores. And he's way more mobile than Kaaya.

I think it's a conundrum. Both have pluses and minuses. Richt will make the right decision. And if he doesn't get it right to start the season, I trust he'll pull the guy and put the other one in.

Did Shaq make it in today?
I think most of the Defensive starters were held out today.

Same with some of starters on Offense, staff trying to keep everyone healthy & not overwork anybody.

Season starts literally in 14 days, no reason to risk injuring any of the guys we need in a Scrimmage.

FSU struggles with mobile QB's. Rosier will have to use his legs if we have a chance. Not sure our Offense is built for that.

It is built for that.

Is it? Last year, we ran a RPO. CMR also never really had a mobile QB in his career as a head coach.

Yes, I think the RPO is built for a mobile QB if used correctly. It's almost a pseudo-wildcat offense where you have 3 options every play depending on what the defense gives you.

I agree and hope for the same. I think the RPO with a QB who can't run (Kaaya) is not effective. It was frustrating not seeing Kaaya take off when he should have. We'll see.

A qb doesnt need to run it effectively if they understand the mismatch.

Furthermore, any offense is built for a running qb.

All it takes is for Rosier to see that no one is open and takes off for a 1st down. Sure, it wasnt designed..but its still back breaking tho

If I read right the #1 defense was going against the #2 offense a lot so I think that's why a lot of TFLs.

I'd expect the TFLs to be mostly from the LBs and DL.

It looks like there were a lot more pass plays than runs, so my guess (and hope) would be our DBs were blowing up bubble screen and flats-type routes.

FSU is going to need a stop to get the ball back and rosier is going to tuck it and pick up the first down, breaking their back and winning the game.

i agree

if evan is in it makes the game easy for fsu and they will have less ground to cover and have no respect for him

Don't think he's on the same level as Jackson, Watson or Flowers running the ball...

Carter might be my favorite freshmen we have on D. He's going to be another great DB coming out of The U. Ball hawk and lays the wood down

Hope so him and Jamie having same amount of tackles is scary thought albeit in a scrimmage.

The Franchise @OriginalCanesCanes @Southcane @blackvern & few others (sorry for forgetting) were all right from the jump on Rosier.
Props to you guys & everyone else who have been high on Rosier.

I went back & forth all offseason with this QB race, when Pete said Perry would start back in January I didn't think it was possible, but as time went on it seemed like it could based on everything we would here from the insiders.

At the end of day, Richt can't force a TF QB to be the starter if he ain't ready. Rosier been here for 4 years, it's either now or never with him.

If he can stay consistent & not turn the ball over too much it makes sense to let him basically play his Senior season (I know he's a Red Junior) out while Perry gets ready for next year.

Unless Rosier is just terrible vs FSU, he'll be the starter for the whole season & I'm good with that, he has the opportunity to finally help us win the Coastal... I'm in 100% support of him, lets ride!

Ummm, don't forget this guy right here (me). I've been literally been upfront driving the Rosier wagon

I am confident in that guy. All you have to do watch the Duke game from two years ago, with an unbiased eye ---he played very well and tossed gems with 3 days to prepare. He is an aggressive QB that can hit the deep ball, he has wheels (which is a fit for the RPO), and he doesn't play scared.

We can do things with Rosier

Richt sure has been talking up Langham lately , that would be a nice surprise. Kid is built like a tank.
