Scouting Pitt

This will be the 3rd time I'm watching Pitt this season.

My first impression of them was that they are undersized but scrappy on defense.

They're currently ranked in the top 20 defensively.

Their OC, the ignominious Mark Whipple, loves to throw the ball. He also likes to get his QB killed with slow developing plays. Their starting QB Kenny Pickett has been a tackling dummy this season and has dealt with multiple minor injuries as a result.

Their run game is non-existent.

They have been up and down this season.

They looked outmatched against UVA the first time I watched them. Then they gave PSU a scare, holding the Pedos to 17 points. They struggled to beat Ohio. Then they ended UCF's 28 game regular season winning streak. They trailed Delaware in the 4th quarter. Then they beat Coastal division leader Duke on the road.

If the pattern holds, tonight's game will be close and we'll need at least 35 points to beat them.
