Scott and Dingle - WRs

Dingle seems like a Hurns type. Always ballin out, but doesn't get the respect he deserves from non-Canes fans until he does it in the pros. This kids going to kill it for us. Hopefully with Richt putting together respectable teams he gets the honors that Hurns deserved and never got from others.

Hurns is the best comparison I've seen for Dingle yet. Good one.

I've been trying to put comps for all of our commits and somehow overlooked a former cane when thinking of one for him.

Dingle reminds me of Leonte Carroo. Similar measurables. Good athletes and built strong and wide. A load to deal with on the outside.

Dingle's going to be a handful for CBs. He's a big, tough dude who gets after it. I love the way he abused Davis and was yanking that weave like Davis was a chick being beat down at McDonald's.

Omg is that funny.

(can't believe I'm saying this), but the thrashing he gave Davis on twitter the next few days might have been worse. Dingle was made for the U.

I like WR's who make plays. Greene for FSU could not be running faster than 4.55 but was always moving the chains. But I would agree with some that this Scott take is a gamble.

If Dingle can come in and be a hurns to complement the guys we recruited last cycle and Jeudy, I'd be estatic

Naw Greene was a high 4.4 low 4.5. That being said, especially on the college level you don't have to be fast to be productive.

The term is on the verge of being overused, but Dingle is a true South Florida Dog. He may not get the hype of alot of other receivers, but he just gets it done (kinda like another Chief, Allen Hurns). Carol City's been good to us.

Gonna watch Scott closely this season. I'm not ready to dismiss him like some, but at the same time, I'm not sure what he's bringing to the table. His 40 time is concerning, but I know he's coming off an injury and is working to improve it. He is a technician, though.

I agree with all of this. I'm really excited about Dingle and think he could be a reliable receiver for us.

We need burners at the WR spot and Scott simply has to slash that 40 time below 4.6, one to watch closely.

I have no problem believing that Scott can get his 40 time down to 4.6 and better during his time here. Having said that, Scott doesn't need to be a burner. I realize the WR corps desperately needs an infusion of speed but Scott was recruited because the staff believes he can be a very productive college receiver. I believe that Dingle and Scott can be elite possession receivers in addition to being dangerous red zone targets.

I think the staff is intent on bringing in 5 WRs and the speed will come from the other 3. Njoku is supposed to be a 4.4 guy and the other 2 WRs will be fast. If we finish with Jeudy and Harley we will be fine. Also with all of the CB's we will be bringing in in the next 2-3 years, there are bound to be a couple(Dallas, Henderson) that could switch over to WR if needed. My point is that Scott will not be getting "dropped" by this staff because many on this board see him as a mediocre, pedestrian type of prospect which he most definitely is not.

Speed kills and I too have other receivers I prefer, but at the same time I don't see Scott as a gamble. He runs good routes and has the best hands. Can make acrobatic catches. You'll need guys like that, that don't need perfectly thrown balls and make those catches that keep the chains moving. Let's admit we've seen Coley drop a few.

How many slower ones can you take? If they take both of them they need to go after Harley.
