Scary thing is the talent is as bad as the coaching

Bad coaching+ poor atitude/character in the players=Miami hurricanes last season accomplishment s.sorry fellas but to just blame the staff is wrong.good players adapt and overcome bad coaches see 2001 team as an example but they did have a good hc prior to that season.

The talent is good enough to beat the teams we lost to.

But man, there is something in the water culturally with this team that no one gives a fvck about winning. We can blame the head coach...its his fault ultimately, but many of these players lack something inside of them that drives them to simply beat the other man across from them on Gameday.

Previous offensive line coach has done a great job at UNC. He was ridiculed here for not being able to “coach”. So you had a guy and sucked. You say it’s the coach. He leaves and is successful. You bring in a new guy and suck. Is it still coaching?

North Carolina’s rank in sack percentage dropped from 4th in the country to 104th.

Searels stinks.

Top 15 talent on this team. I’m sure teams around top 15, Iowa, Bama, Auburn etc, could line up and run the ball and beat fiu, GT, L-tech, Duke

The talent is not much better than la tech and the coaching sucks i thought the diaz hire would destroy this program it appears headed that way fast
It's the coaching. Stars matter. But so does coaching. Miami has become the place where blue chips come to die because of consistently poor coaching. We're one of the few schools for whom there is no positive correlation between stars and wins/conference titles, and that's because we've been bargain hunting for our coaches for 20+ years, if not longer. Once the coaches get hired they get lazy thinking that talent alone will get them by. Not only does this attitude inevitably lead to failure, but it spoils or ruins the talent we have. Even 5-stars need coaching and development to stay competitive and make it in the league. Think of what Frank Beamer or Mike Leach would've done with top 5-10 classes every year. Or Urban Meyer (we KNOW what he's done with that kind of talent, as well as without it). Or the guy from Boise/Washington (Chris Peterson I think is his name). Those guys coach 2* and 3* up (or in Urban's case, 4* and 5*); we've been coaching them down for 15 years.

This isn’t fantasy football. We have some very good (although far from great) skill position players. Sadly, the OL truly does possess the talent level of a Louisiana Tech or some scrub team. When you force feed 50 lbs onto a 2 star true freshman LT, you have a talent problem.

OP is correct. You guys overrate this team.
Overrated af. They forever hype these dudes up all off season and during recruiting. Then when they don't produce they say it's the ****** coaching. Which to be fair is half right but too many times I see jags who other people on here call talented.

This isnt a pass for diaz its just concerning because we all know as terrible a coach diaz is he is a worse recruiter just scary
