Scary part is our defense will be better in 2020....

We need Garvin to come back for his senior year. Having Rousseau play across from him is critical to both of their success and reducing the amount of double teams either will face. If Garvin comes back, he will benefit greatly from the success #15 has had and the attention that GR will draw going forward.

Any hope for significant improvement next season, on both sides of the ball, is going to be heavily determined by the choices the underclassmen make on going to the draft to be a late round pick or staying for another year to improve their draft stock.

I think Jeff Thomas is in all likelihood gone, but if everyone else sticks around, that would be a huge help to Manny in getting this thing on track.

They'll be some good LBs available in the portal who could use a year in this defense to get some better film.

And if jaelan phillips turns out to be as advertised then for sure it would only help garvin stock value to increase for the next level. garvin for sure needs to stay and avoid the pitfalls of leaving early chasing early dollars.

oh forgot to add j. harvey to the mix. all reports are that he as much as a beast as #15 at he same stage of development.

Don't think our LBs have been very good this year, outside of Saturday. But, we will definitely miss their experience and leadership, **** the guys starting next year aren't getting any time this year.

Shaq is on pace for 100+ tackles and 15+ TFLs. Pinckney was having a good year before the injuries (would be on pace for nearly 80 tackles, 13 TFLs, and 5-6 sacks). They're also #1 and #2 on the team in non-sack QB hurries this year, which have helped the DL eat.

The LB bashing needs to stop. They haven't been elite every game, but they've been elite in some games, and at least decent in just about every other game. That is what an all-conference type of season looks like. They have some weaknesses (Shaq isn't the fastest LB in the country) but a lot of strengths (sure tackling, typically in the right place, get downfield quickly), just like all good players.

If you don't think Shaq has had a good year, what would a good year have looked like for him? 120 tackles? 150 tackles?

The bar some of you guys hold our LBs to is totally unreasonable.
