Scary part is our defense will be better in 2020....

Don't think our LBs have been very good this year, outside of Saturday. But, we will definitely miss their experience and leadership, **** the guys starting next year aren't getting any time this year.
dont understand why this is down voted outside of FSU game they haven’t been too hot

Sam Brooks and McCloud could be a devastating combo at LB. The most athletic we've been at LB in ages. No portal nonsense needed. They would not be as solid/reliable as Shaq and Pink but the play-making potential is sky high.

Exactly you hit right on the head bro, they might not be as reliable, but more athleticism=more big play ability

We need Garvin to come back for his senior year. Having Rousseau play across from him is critical to both of their success and reducing the amount of double teams either will face. If Garvin comes back, he will benefit greatly from the success #15 has had and the attention that GR will draw going forward.

Any hope for significant improvement next season, on both sides of the ball, is going to be heavily determined by the choices the underclassmen make on going to the draft to be a late round pick or staying for another year to improve their draft stock.

I think Jeff Thomas is in all likelihood gone, but if everyone else sticks around, that would be a huge help to Manny in getting this thing on track.
Send me some of what you are drinking. My bourbon just isn't cutting it. We seldom keep good players after 3rd year and I doubt Gavin will stay(although he should) but it is Manny getting this thing on track that requires stronger stuff for me. The one coach in ACC he out-coached just got fired.

I'm with you, man. It's Optimistic Monday. I'm just turning over a new leaf for a day to try it out and see how it feels.

That said, IF Manny can get this team across the finish line at 9-4, AND he can convince the juniors who are eligible to turn pro to come back for another year, we could be looking at an offense in its second year with the same staff and returning every starter except for KJ, and a defense returning every major contributor except for the three linebackers (I include Finley in that), Bethel, and Knowles. If McCloud comes back and Huff and Brooks, plus Frierson are as good as we think they will be, there'll be a chance that there will be some legitimate reason for optimism.

I know, I'm just high.

I'm laughing with you not at you!

All good, man. I know! And thanks for the react. I do feel a little like Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde right now.

It's like, a month ago, Jarren was going to be a top 5 pick in the draft and for sure would only play here for two seasons, and now we're basically back to that if you listen to @Roman Marciante and the OBB, nevermind that in the meantime he sucked royally (maybe cause our ****head coaches started an injured player) and apparently almost quit the team.

We lost to the worst team the ACC has had in years, at home, and then just because we won two games against a decent unranked opponent where we put up all of 200 yards of total offense for an entire game, and then beat the worst Noles team of literally anyone's lifetime that knows how to use a computer, and everyone's feeling good, including me.

What will happen next? Who ******* knows? For now, this whole "turning point" theme feels pretty good, so give me a puff of that and I'll roll along with it until reality comes back around. It feels kinda good being on the "Everything is Awesome" bandwagon for a minute.

I know what you mean. The loses to VT and GT and the close one with CMU pretty much sealed it for a lot of folks. To use a fishing term... it looked like MD could not reel the team around and they were lost stripping out line. I know we beat a weak FSU team but everybody here had us losing and we were Vegas +3... so like you say is this the "turning point"... I sure hope so. Also laughable this weekend is ND coming a gnats *** from losing to lowly VT, oh well. Let's just take this day by day and week by week and keep the banner folded up for now.

So will Miami's extremely young offensive line. Diaz, Enos and Barry better get some QUALITY linemen for this incoming class!

We'll need some Portal help at LB. But other than that, we fvckin.
The portal or MD better have Baker walkin a straight line in the offseason developing the young linebackers... better yet fire his *** and get a good one... probably wishful thinking though.

With or without Garvin, that Dline rotation will be nasty next year. The 3 freshman will start to contribute as well and have gotten rave reviews.

Shaq is a great CANE. Will do well for us as another Ambassador. But, he isn’t a GREAT player On a consistent basis. He’s good some games. Awful some games. I think we’ll miss his knowledge. Not his play on game day. I think Sam may be the next great LB. kid has ALL the tools.

Next year’s defense should be NASTY.

It's not an assumption that our LBs will be more athletic next year, it's a fact. Will that translate to better LB play, who knows.

Ya man I was picking up what you were putting down, sadly though something just go over ppls heads on this site and they want to act like you said lb would be better next year when all you said was they'd be more athletic.
