Scarlett Wants to Stay Close to Home

I know very little about SFla HS football, but can someone tell me how USchool has done with all of these studs?

Seems like they might be a bit overrated, no? Scarlett is a beast and has an offer, but these kids comments are very telling. They're obviously trolling and are showing very little respect for the local school. I can see why Al and co. are a bit put off by them.

Its also curious that none of these studs they have had the last 2 years have ended up at Florida, FSU or UM. Tells me all I need to know right there

To say they are overrated b/c they arent at a Florida school is confusing....

J. Cunningham (Vandy), M. Bian (LSU), and Skai Moore (USCe) are all at SEC schools from last year's class.

Richard Yeargin III is committed to Notre Dame.

Quincy Wilson is going to Florida.

.... I think an argument could be made that the only Florida school that all of these guys, except maybe Bain, wanted to play for was UM.

.... and how is Scarlett "obviously trolling"??? This kid is just going into the 11th grade. I doubt he even knows what the word trolling means.... i never even heard of the terminology until i joined this site.

You think every player out of Uschool is out to waist their time "trolling" Miami??

Vanderbilt- good school but not an elite football school.

LSU- what position did they take Bain at?

We'll see about where Wilson ends up but I don't think he'll go to Florida. I think he'll end up at Ohio St

How do we know that these schools aren't taking fliers on these kids to get in at USchool?

LULZ at anyone who believes our corches reject this dude's calls. That's just a straight up lie.

Golden has earned some latitude w/r/t recruiting.

There's not enough information to draw any meaningful conclusion from this.

Golden's job is to win football games. Why wouldn't he want a top 10 RB from South Florida? Because of some make-believe vendetta against the school? I don't get that.

Does anything about Al's personality and recruiting acumen lead you to believe that's true?

I'm gonna trust the coaches on this one.

for recruiting newbies, what japancane said. was just about to post this. it isn't uf, fsu or UM. take a borderline kid in hopes of getting in at a school that has some future stars.
I guess we'll see how this plays out w/ some of these kids.
Cunningham and moore may end up producing b/c it's vandy and uscE. bain? we'll see.

Bain's a DT who didn't play there his Sr season. Al and co. had a close look at him and passed.

This is where your point fails "recruiting master"..... Explain how is Skai Moore a bordeline talent when Miami offered him???

Miami offered late when other kids fell thru. Last minute offer.

NOPE... WRONG AGAIN "recruiting master" Al Golden thought Matthew Thomas was going to commit to UM on NSD and still offered Skai Moore the night before NSD.

what else ya got???

I have three theories on this:

1. After we hired Coley, he told us that Matthew Thomas was going to FSU for sure, so we offered Skai Moore.
2. Even though it was always intended to be a small class (partly because of available schollies and partly in anticipation of sanctions), we offered a bunch of guys late, which perhaps means that Shalala said to Al, "**** it. Don't worry about the sanctions. Use all the schollies."
3. A combination of 1 & 2

Those make more sense to me than Golden changing his mind about Skai Moore at the 11th hour.

the night before NSD isn't last minute?

Focus... the recruiting master said that Miami offered late when other kids fell thru.

The only person that he could be referring to is Matthew Thomas b/c Miami wasnt recruiting anybody else, last year besides, MT and Jermaine Grace at LB.

1.) I dont believe that at all b/c MT didnt even want to go to FSU, he just wanted to spite Al Golden & UM fans but at the same time fulfill his mothers wishes by staying "close to home".... so now he's stuck at a place where he doesnt even want to be. :nelsonhaha:

2.) Even if that were true, which it could be, that has nothing to do with not even trying to keep in contact with Skai Moore at all during the recruiting process.

.... Also keep in mind like you said we ended up giving out a lot of extra scholarships after NSD..... even more recently with Naim Mustafaa and was considering offering Suttles to come in from Nebraska as well.

I just think the staff just ****ed that one up b/c we are just talking about ONE scholarship at that time... and Skai Moore was hurt that he didnt even get recruited. The staff couldve informed him the situation if it was about lack of scholarships but still build that relationship so if they did come with an offer, it wouldnt have came off like a slap in the face and he wouldve committed.

Jawand Blue was told about the situation with Keith Brown and knew where he stood with the staff before the offer came.

If the staff shot str8 with Blue what makes you think they didn't with Moore?

Maybe they told him the deal and he didn't want to be someone's plan b. Maybe all these USchool kids are a bit soft shouldered and have developed a sense entitlement fostered by their coaching staff. I don't pretend to know.

One thing I do believe is that the kids we do offer and recruit heavily from USchool should feel honored because so many ''good'' team mates didn't get recruited by our staff. Knowing our staff respects their skills, football IQ, and work ethic should make them quite proud.

People have the nerve to compare Randy's constant ****ups to Golden?

Yes, Golden and Hurlie, who is a beast, are just gonna ***** up the recruitment of a top flight RB (supposedly) in their backyard and not fix it. Sounds totally like their M.O.

I thought that's what I said, Japan, but, apparently not. Not sure what I'm missing.

Thomas wanted to go to SC, but that's immaterial. I think it's reasonable to assume that Coley knew Thomas most definitely was NOT going to Miami.

We know Golden and his staff are hard workers. We know they're not catalog shoppers. We know they have a specific type of recruit they want in terms of size, attitude, etc... For example, "it's not longer okay to be a 208-lb linebacker at Miami."

Moore was probably a plan C guy. When a spot opened up, they decided to throw him an offer. Why else would they offer so late? What else could've changed?

There are probably 40-50 of these "show me the love" recruits in this class that need the staff's attention. Rare is the Duke Johnson / Kc McDermott recruit.

There is also the small matter of coaching the current team, which I know is just a side job when compared to the central mission of making 16 year olds feel so damned good about themselves that it puts their participation trophies and attendance ribbons to shame, but one that I think deserves some attention. Unless we are all good with the Sun Bowl and second place in our division.

MY question: where are they supposed to find the time for the 100 kids in next year's class that need to be "showed love"? Where is the time supposed to come from?

I know it isn't supposed to come from the time spent recruiting this year's kids, and it sure as **** better not come out of the time needed to better the on field product. As far as I can tell the staff already puts in 18 hour days. Maybe Mr. Scarlett will have to wait a couple of months to get the full court press. If that hurts his feelings, good luck to him and we will find a head nodder to do the job.

Seems like they are all in South Florida.

Kid obviously needs his ego stroked a certain way.

Then stroke it, I don't give a **** if you have to kiss his ***, do whatever it takes to get him on this roster.

What, like sending him 100+ handwritten letters in 1 day?

LOL at the blind Golden followers. I remember Shannon used to get killed if any kid in South Florida muttered anything like Scarlett just said. Their is no excuse for not recruiting this kid. Why would he lie about Miami not showing interest? 2015 kid, yes, but I don't hear Patrick complaining about the lack of interest from Miami, or Burgess-Becker, or any other 2015 kid. Bottom line Miami is dropping the ball with Scarlett, and it needs to be corrected.

Who are these blind Golden followers?

Who said Miami wasn't recruiting Scarlett?

Lulz at Miami dropping the ball and moar lulz at it needing to be corrected. Classic overreaction.

Chicken little gon chicken little.

I dont know if Golden is "hating" U school but if you act like there is nothing puzzling going on between the relationship this staff has with Uschool then you are trippin hard.

Provide some proof then.

A top rb in sfla just said the coaches dont answer his calls wat more proof do you want

Do college football coaches sit at a desk 24/7?

Do you believe everything you read?

So you know for a fact that the coaches are answering his calls?

So you know for a fact that the coaches aren't answering his calls?

LULZ at anyone who believes our corches reject this dude's calls. That's just a straight up lie.

Al Golden hates U School kids so of course the staff rejects this kid's calls.
