Geo305, have you heard that Scarlett lacks work effort and doesn't like contact? Is that a false rumor?
Completely false rumor if you have watched him this season.
Rivals evaluation they put out on him a few days back about why they lowered his rank.... LMAO I'm still dying from it.
"This is sort of an incidental drop here. He really didn't do anything to plummet down the rankings. We just liked some other guys better, especially Dexter Williams in the state of Florida. Scarlett is a guy who peaked early, he was a superstar as a young kid, and hasn't progressed as much as we would have liked. He still is a very good player. -- Farrell"
When I read this the other day. I busted out laughing, spit out my drink and everything. These so called experts..... I am willing to bet they have not watched a single game of Jordan Scarlett this year.
BECAUSE if they did, they wouldn't be saying that. That's some load of crap that they took that people were saying before the season that they wanted him to become more physical.
You could have made this case last year that he didn't take the next step.
BUT for anyone who has watched him this year as myself, knows very well he has taken the next step in his game from just being a kid with freak size and speed. Into a complete back that can ground and pound, bust a defender on his *** or just run right past you as he knocked your teammate on his ***.
Scarlett not only likes contact, he breaks tackles, continues moving his legs in the pile, is a factor in the pass game, can block, literally drags defenders into the endzone, runs with a lot more power than previous years and has learned to use his physique and speed to his advantage and play smash mouth and home run threat football on any down now.
And lack of work effort? That's crap, the kid is in the weight room every day. And is always trying to better and perfect his craft.
The knock on Scarlett before this year was that he was a kid with freak size that didn't use it. That he didn't really power through, that he had too much finesse for a kid his size.
Scarlett this year has become a complete back, the back everyone was expecting him to become. I mean it's a transformation, from his 3 years at U School and now at STa this year, he has learned to use his elite size, strength and speed all together now.
Scarlett is elite, you can't just teach 4.3 flat speed at 210. The fact he became the complete back this year that was always expected has me gushing about this kid. We need to hold on to him and get him in here.
