SCAIFE AT RIGHT TACKLE

Now switch Scaife and St. Louis...

Less important than moving ND to RG and Scaife to RT, imo for 2 reasons...

- Although I love scaife, I am not ready to leave him at LT
- Aside from the Burns strip/sack, St Louis actually did pretty well against FSU. I think he'll be ok at LT.

We know more then the coaches. 2/2 on Perry & Scaife. Maybe they should log the **** in. Hey ********. Tell Bob Knowles to get the gatorade & put 26 in !!!!!

This will be our worst OL since 1997

LT Scaife | Nelson | Elgammal

LG Donaldson | Hillery | Lerman

C Gaynor | Kennedy | Clark

RG Reed | Campbell | Griffith

Worst since 97? Rok, you are on that "ooh wee" a little early this morning. Lol

This is the most talented O-Line that we've had in a while. It may take them a while to get some continuity, but there is 4 star talent across the board. Add in the fact that we have a legit O-line coach, we are not going to be as bad as many people think. I can see us lining up like this on 08/24...
LT- Nelson (I get it, he's a two star! Still looks good)
LG- Donaldson
C- Gaynor
RG- Herbert or Campbell
RT- Scaife

That's a pretty solid first team, once they get some chemistry!

It’s not a strength but worst since 97 is a stretch..

Maannnn, that 97 bunch was some kinda horrible. I still remember the *** kickin' we took at doak. I thought they had broken our QB's (Covington or Clements, IIRC) back when they knocked him up against the goalpost.

The fun part of that is that the starting lineup you just listed might also be the highest average star rating / bluechip ratio since '97 too.

Know it when you see it! By all accounts, Nelson has the "IT" factor, it seems. Such a blessing for our team. Start him from day one. Give him some help with some chip blocks, but keep the kid in the fire and he will grow.

Kinda interested in Gaynor, who seems to have more push/strength than out center last year.
John Campbell over Herbert IMO because the kid is WIDE and has some MITTS on him. Great body composition for a guard.

You're better than this, reg. Why are we sure that Barry is a legit OL coach?

There's little to suggest that this OL will be good, let alone one of our best in a while. Is there potential based on some recruiting rankings? Sure, there's some.

Nelson - has never played a game, 280 lbs soaking wet
Donaldson - has not lived up to the hype...I think he should play center
Gaynor - injured ... small....needed him in 2018 and didn't break through
Reed - conditioning still a concern, no experience
Herbert - no experience... finally healthy... will it last?
Campbell - is he a guard or a tackle? No experience.
Hillery - played TE in 2018 ... almost no experience
Scaife - beast ... still young
Kennedy - lol
Brown - lol
Dykstra - lol
Clark - not here yet, chose UM over Illinois
Elgammal - not here yet, project

I agree, regarding the fact that most of our talent is unproven. That is why I mentioned that we will be okay once we get some chemistry and continuity on the O-Line.

This O-Line will be facing one of the top D-Lines everyday in practice. They will grow rapidly by that fact alone. They looked much better at the end of the spring in which they held up pretty well in the spring game, and that was without Gaynor.

I am not certain that Barry will be a great O-Line coach, but I am **** sure certain that he will be better than what we've had since Jeff Stoutland. I am a huge Bucs fan, and their organization was very high on Barry. The players responded to him very well, better than the actual O-Line coach. Since he has been at Miami, IMO, in just the one month of spring practice, our Oline looked better than it did all of last year.

Scaife and Gaynor are solid and are a lock to start. Both are trench bullies. We are one decent portal OT from having a decent oline.
