Chip K to Miiami = So much savagery, so little time

**** it, tank the season, fire Gluten now and lock Kelly down for 5 glorious years

I can see him replacing Cutty Sark at USC. I know he's from New England but the Chipster's demeanor seems a little more West Coast for some reason. You guys saying you'd prefer Charlie Weak coming off an epic failed tenure at Texas and possibly a 7+ loss season over Kelly are a special breed.

Any Hurricane fan saying no to this ridiculous hypothetical (our administration is too soft to hire this savage) should consider no longer following the sport of football.

Chip at Miami is the nightmare scenario for college football. It would be a massacre for anyone unfortunate enough to step on the same field as him.

Something tells me that would not be true. Chip never won NC at OR. Everyone assumes So FL talent would make Chip unstoppable but that is not necessarily true. For whatever reason, OR's players seldom make it in NFL while So Fl players populate it. Chip has shown in Philly that he likes certain types of players for his system. What is that is not the types we have here? He could end up like Al, trying to remake the DNA of local talent instead of creating system for it. Chip could end up looking at banners too. BBB. At least Butch know what to except from us if he sucks.

Ummmmm, do you see what you typed and how it doesnt make sense. Oregon was not a traditional power. They have no natural recruiting base and had to take lesser talent and Chip still got them to the bcs game, they have won soo much in recent years that they now are a perennial power. Oregon players not having success in NFL is 2 things in mind. First I dont care about NFL success, I want College success, they get drafted its up to individual player to succeed at that point. Chip would bring wins in college. #2 You prove the point that Chip does more with less, try to follow me here, but if south florida is fertile grounds for nfl talent. What could a guy like chip do with access to talent he couldnt acquire on a large scale at UO but can at UM?

You catch that? You just proved why a guy like chip could win big and would scare the bejebuz out of other coaches. As much talent as golden has lost in recent years he STILL has a roster with NFL talent, A proven guy like chip would have recruits LINED UP to play for him! He has taken freaking Oregon to ship with guys like Jeff Maehl at top target. Imagine with what we could draw

There's a negative % chance we could outbid someone like Texas for services....assuming he'd even want to go back to college.

Erase this possibility from your head folks....it's simply going to add to the frustration of the current situation.

On the surface everything you say makes sense. You have to peal the onion a few layers to get my point. JJ came here and succeed not by bringing his OSU systems here but by changing to stuff suit to our athlete. Chip is a smart version of Al. He is certain HIS system is the only way to go and has spent all his time trying to gather "his" type of player -- you know like the one he had in OR. He has shown no ability to adapt. Why should he, like Al, Chip is the smartest person in the room. You ASSUME our local players will excel in Chips system, while I question that. Maybe they will, maybe they will not. The only thing we know is that, unlike JJ, Chip will not change his system if they don't. He will go sink of swim with his brainchild. Like Al, Chip could well not know what to do with the superior talent in So FL. Understand?

Wow, the fact you compared Chip to Al Golden, not sure if we should just end this as we might not get anywhere. EVERY coach has a system, atleast you would hope, Saban has one, Urban has one, etc. They all do, and believe in it and want players that can fit. Chip system has gotten results, Golden system is a **** system and he is a fraud hack who read every self help business book and just regurgitates it to unsuspecting pleabs who fall for his con. He has never won ANYTHING. Chip has shown he can adapt his system with mobile qb, non mobile, run heavy, pass heavy, etc.

Where you get this no ability to adapt, dude took UO with decent talent and made them a BCS team yearly.

Jimmy Johnson invented his 4-3 BEFORE coming to Miami. He didn't change.

He had to play the wishbone every year at Okie State, and so he developed his speed based, one gap 4-3 there to combat it.

Then when he came to Miami, he had the pleasure of using insane freak savage athletes in the system.

Al's problem isn't he doesn't adapt, it's he is a terrible coach.

Chip Kelly never won a NC at Oregon bc while his system was amazing and works without a billion stud recruits, you need elite athletes to play championship defense, which Oregon doesn't have access to. Miami does. It would be the kind of elite hire we need.

The great coaches design systems for the talent they have. The good coaches have systems that work with the right players. The crappy coaches have systems that don't work. JJ was great coach. Chip is a good coach. Al is a crappy coach. I am saying you are making a judgement So Fl players are the type Chip wants. If you are wrong, he will start recruiting out of state and everyone will go nuts again.

You ignore problems with his system. Any up tempo system has a flaw shows up on the other side of the ball, the defense. If your uptempo fails and goes 3 and out, your defense is back on field fast. If you score fast, your defense is back on the field fast. Even you "long" sustained drives wear your defense out because they are still quick. If the other team is a ponder, your defense can end up every bit as exhausted out theirs. Want I am saying is Chip Kelly is not the sure fire football god for Miami you make out. Of course all this is just chit chat because there no way he ends up here.

Are there guys really trying to claim that because he didn't win a NC at Oregon he wouldn't here? Are they really saying that?

You only know about Oregon and think they're a powerhouse BECAUSE of Kelly. He took them from a scrappy 8 win type of program with no recruiting base to a team in the hunt for a NC every year. Do you get that?

Now take that situation and give him access to exactly the type of players he kills with at UM. Unlimited access.

2009-2012 (4) Seasons

46-7 (33-3), 4 BCS Appearances, 2 BCS Wins, 1 NC Appearance, 3 Conference Titles and averaged 11.5 Wins Per Season. He doesn't play down to chitty opponents either:

His 7 Losses:

2009
@ #1 4 BSU (Lost by 11, his first game)
@ Stanford (Lost by 9)
Rose Bowl #8 OSU (Lost by 9)

2010
NC #1 Auburn (Lost by 3)

2011
#4 LSU (Lost by 13, neutral site)
#1 8 USC (Lost by 3)

2012

Not that it matters but all of his L(s) were against ranked opponents except 2009 @ Stanford (he lost to Harbaugh).

Nah, Mike Belotti built that program.

What?

He is 1-1 against Harbaugh. He is 2-2 against them overall. This include Harbaugh's best team (2010 Stanford) where they won by 21 points (Stanford was 12-1 that year).

I know most college coaches feel inferior to their professional counterparts and want to show their worth at the professional ranks, but some are better fits to remain at the college level and dominate most games. Chip Kelly is one of those guys. His offensive and team effectiveness has gone down each year. His system and effectiveness is at the college level. Although I agree with one Tweeter, Texas would open up the vault to hire him. We couldn't compete or even try to. He'd have to be determined this is where he wants to be.

My comment was tongue in cheek.
