SBNation Preview for Opener..

The base assumption they make is that both defenses will be good and both offenses will struggle at QB and O-Line. Miami has more experienced secondary and QB, and LSU's QB is learning a new system on the fly, so edge to Miami. Malik obviously struggled down the stretch. How much of that was due to his shoulder injury vs teams scheming against him well vs him just running out of gas in year 1 is above my pay grade. Here's hoping he makes a reasonable Year 2 Leap and hits a few more open men streaking downfield. Then we'll wipe the floor with the Bayou Bungles.

If LSU lines up with 2 down linemen, we might have to wait a week to see if Rosier made any improvement. We have enough solid and capable bodies in the Running Backs room to have a fresh set of legs hammering the rock on every play.

Retooling offenses?

Da ****?

We lost Herndon/Berrios that is about it. No one on the OL will be missed. Berrios can be replaced.

TE......lets go youngins....

We are going to have our way with LSU

LSU’s defense is still close to elite, their offense is their problem, the game will come down to who can run better, and turnovers.

I don’t think we will “have our way” with them simply because they still have plenty good perimeter athletes and talent along both lines, BUT

What LSU fans seem to be forgetting is that Richt >>>>>>> their idiot. It will be a physical low scoring affair, and as disappointing as Rosier can be, he still has a ton more experience than their guy will have. As long as we don’t play stupid football, we should be fine. Yes, drives will he stalled and I expect to cuss out Rosier a couple times but we will hit a few explosive plays like always and I expect us to get a couple TO’s as well from the rookie QB they will trot out in his first start vs a top 10 defense.

McDermott stabilized our LT position. His departure forced us to move St. Louis to LT and now we have questions at RT. And if we're honest St. Louis's play at LT isn't a guarantee to be better, or as good, as McDermott was.

And what was most of the board thinking about McDermott heading into last season?

We’re most certainly not gonna “have our way” with LSU. That’s crazy homer talk. If you believe that then I’ll be looking forward to seeing your betting slip.

I thought wed win by 10-14, then I saw that they are taking an inexperienced transfer QB. 14-17 point win is my prediction. Low scoring first half but our skill guys are just too much for them. It will be a lot easier for us to score than it is for them to score.
