I honestly think he hates his working life, the people on the board and probably the Hurricanes at this point. Miserable people aren’t usually much fun to be around. I see it as sad fwiw. He presents himself as an angry and bitter guy on that site. Lastly, I think when someone who posts as a fan knows more about the inner workings of the team or players, he takes it personally. Fwiw I saw him last Tuesday. I don’t engage him or have any desire to ever know him. He has an “energy” that I’m not interested in investigating. I’ve never wanted to know any of the media. Their job is make money off of clicks, good and bad. The bad is a problem for any of us that care about this program.

Hey Cush, speaking of Pittsburgh, I'm sure you circled Oct 30 on your calendar...Canes at Pittsburg. You can take your son to your usual Heinz field Pitt game and sit behind the Canes bench as it's a father/son tradition...good bonding op.

I guess he was charging for his product when everybody expected it for free. He's a good guy, always liked him. Just finances kept me from continuing my subscription with him.

He went out and did a printed newsletter when nobody else would or could. There was an attempt by a journalist named Dan Oudinot back around '86 but it failed, even though I think he might have gotten some help from Tom Curtis and Dolphin Digest in getting that started.

For years, all the other top programs had very good quality printed newspapers, and this was long before the internet. PSU, Michigan, ND, FSU...all had great weekly tabloid size newspapers, and we had nothing, until Gary started Canesport. He got the Dean of Miami Sports Historians as a regular editor: Jim Martz.

Jim has written the standard histories of Miami football, and maybe the baseball team, too.

So, I give Gary a lot of credit; I won't indulge the hate. He was also being ripped off like crazy in the early days of Grassy when his subscriber recruiting content was being copied and pasted on that site.
