..... giving Jarren some immediate burn?

Look, I think we overestimate the fragility of the ego and minds of most QB's BUT if you think that Perry is that mentally weak then what's the solution?

I say open up play at that spot completely and let's throw Jarren into the fire. I don't think you "ruin" any of them if they all get game action and have their skills and weaknesses on full display this year.

Sure, if you have 3 QBs you really have none but I do think this would lessen the chance of transfers and minimize any mental stigma any of them may have felt by getting yanked. It spreads around the spotlight on the entire roster of QBs rather than us sitting here debating Perry alone.

I think the absolute worst case scenario is to keep vacillating between Rosier and Perry and then eventually giving the job back to Rosier as we close out the year and go into bowl season. That's how you end up still having a mediocre season this year AND go into next year with ONE completely unproven scholarship QB.

Perry looked like a freshman making his first road start. He also looked like a freshman making his first start in a rivalry game against FSU too but he settled down in the second half. He should have been given the chance to figure things out against UVA.

He wasn't that much better in the 2nd half. He basically made 2 throws that 2nd half, granted they were massive throws but that's all he did. Have to thank the defense for FSU

HC is keeping a mulligan in his back pocket.

He can use Williams being a first year starter as his excuse next season.

We called plays that we practiced all week, I know that. We called plays that we had faith in. We called plays that we thought we give us the best chance in all situations. We called plays where we took shots. We called plays just trying to run the ball — we had inside zone, outside zone, we ran counter.

“We ran things we thought would succeed and they didn’t. And why they didn’t succeed, we’ll see. Most of the time when you look at the tape it’s a matter of somebody or a couple of guys not getting their job done, normally.

“Are there some plays that we could call that would give us a better chance? I’m certain of that, but we call plays that we worked hard on, believed in and have had success over the last 30 years, so I feel pretty good about them going in

He looked bad and Im a Kosi guy,,,,like real bad. He didnt look off safeties and delivered the ball right to them with his eyes.

I don't disagree but I'm dealing in the present now. If you think Rick realizes what you said and starts him after a bye week at BC and he comes out and sucks- then what? Go back to Rosier? Throw Williams in then? I think you actually do run the risk of ruining or at minimum running him off if that happens.

Yep. And it'd be very effing Al Golden of him.

This program has nothing to gain by Malik finishing out the year. He's a game manager at best and most the time he's bad at that. If he plays from here out Perry or Williams will be opening against UF game 1 next year with hardly any experience.

Perry needs to be given an opportunity to see what he can do. If he improves he might be the guy next year. If not the QB competition next year will determine the starter.

I give Perry more credit than that. He played very well in the second half against FSU. There were a number top-shelf passes. All three TDs, the deep-middle pass to Thomas between two defenders (you couldn't even see Thomas), a sideline throw to Cager.

Yes, the defense got the comeback started with back-to-back turnovers. Perry had to take advantage, and did.

If Williams doesn’t see action in 4 games, Richt is a mismanaging idiot.

Agreed but I'm beginning to believe that Rick is constantly a prisoner of the moment in trying to "save" the season when he panics in regard to ****ty QB play. Can absolutely see him just rotating in and out Perry and Rosier as we try to skate by the remaining less than stellar opponents on our schedule. I fear it'll take both of those guys looking like absolute trash simultaneously before Williams takes a meaningful snap. Especially when my "solution" here is to actually give Williams a start.

Going back to Rosier would be the death knell for this team. I'd rather go down fighting with a player who can make plays than passively give away games because our quarterback is incapable of positively impacting the game.

I don't see him using Williams unless one of the other two get injured. Williams will get his chance in the spring. I think if one of the other is head and shoulders above the other, the loser will bolt. Just today's college football landscape.

Especially if you go back to Rosier AND end up having zero idea what you have in Williams.

I'm just disappointed they had N'Kosi on such a short leash.

But he’s allowed to play in 4 games and keep his redshirt. It would be incredibly dumb not to get him more playing time before spring.

That's true but he's not playing if the game is in the balance and we aren't blowing any of the teams remaining on the schedule out.
