I heard differently.

Turning down Bama’s offer would be the easy route. Cristobal doesn’t take the easy route. The easy route is for pussies.

In 2021, he knew Bama would come calling in the future. He decided to purposely go 12-13 so Bama would not come calling.

DeBoer can do more with less. He’d win much more than Mario IMO. He’s now going to a place with bags. Dude is a slam dunk A+ hire.
I think DeBoer would win 9 games here with 3-4 star talent and fewer resources. Mario will win 9 games with 4-5 star talent and more resources.

But is he a Miami guy? Does he get the culture? Will SFLA talent play for him? We don't want to recruit the players he recruits.

That's what we'd have heard if he was mentioned for the Miami job.

He’s going to flip the Bama player stereotype on its head.

I’m jealous of Bama. Saban retires and within a couple days they’ve got DeBoer on board.
Keep in mind WHO hired Mario. It was not a Miami AD. AND WHO the AD was before Rad was hired AFTER Mario. Bama has had a stabilized admin for years in addition to decades of success on the field. Miami ain’t in the same stratosphere.

Here’s a lil Sumthin sumthin for ye all MariBros to slurp on. DeBoer and Mario started their new jobs at the same time. Here’s their successors’ final year and their results…
