Come on man. the ECU boards think they get Emory in the portal after the Natty. That’s who you’re talking about as the leading internal option. Here is the reality of the situation - we didn't get who we wanted and it's not an indictiment on our program or coaches - he just chose another opportunity albeit a bit strange given the OL situation and team at LSU but who cares. Lots of red flags. I promise we gave everything and more to get him.
There are not a lot of great transfer QBs this year. You are going to win and going to lose.
Sorsby chose TTU - he's from Texas probably partially why, Mestemaker follwed his coach, Becht followed his coach, Hoover was IU all the way. Who else did you really want out of the list of guys? Would you have been happy with Minchey or Brown who followed his coach as well. Raiola I promise is not the answer and I'd rather have someone else. It's not like Mario and team had a lot of options. I do not at all fault this staff one bit. They tried. They will figure it out and have an answer.
Here is what I will say - this will eventually catch up when you just get Portal guys. I know Emory is not everyone's ideal but he is doing a lot of work with Jeff Christensen who is Patrick Maholmes QB coach and the same QB coach for Mestemaker. He recently has been working a lot with him. Who knows about Nickel and Coleman. If we have a strong running team, great OL, we can get a lot of a QB. Might be a little rough at the beginning but we will have a strong team.
We screwed up because we should never went after Leavitt he is a bum. There were like 5 qb's in the porter that were very good and focused on that bum. The other 5 would have come in a heart beat if we offered.
Raiola is certainly better than any of the options still out there. And you don't build all of this momentum only to keep things going with Emory or Nickel. Here is the reality of the situation - we didn't get who we wanted and it's not an indictiment on our program or coaches - he just chose another opportunity albeit a bit strange given the OL situation and team at LSU but who cares. This is now the only Levitt thread open for comments.
Oregon, LSU, Texas, they are all aggressive with their QB rooms. I do wish we did the same. I love Emory but he’s not the answer, Judd should’ve never been here. Need more talent and competition in that room.Word is, LSU pushing hard for Longstreet also. Miami better get him on campus
Late on the Mormon jokeChill peeps just let it play out, enjoy and soak in the natty talk for the next week
This is nuts.
#1 Leavitt obviously doesn't care about winning. He cares about his development(kudos to Kiffin who knows how to develop QBs). His ego and Lane's ego are just match made in heaven. LSU will go 9-3.
#2 It's not over IMO (Moore or Simpson)
#3 Even if we roll with Luke Nickel or Emory Williams this team will be just fine. There's enough talent to go 10-2 again.
I think it's time to start to tamper earlier like Indiana, Texas Tech and Oregon did.
are you saying 24/33 for 151 yards 1 TD 1 INT and 4.6 yards per completion isn't good enough to go back to back to the chip?Is it too early to start lying about that Clemson game from 2023?
Then we need to tamper better. WTF is this where we are playing for a natty at home and getting punked by Texas Tech and LSU.Anyone who thinks we didn't is an idiot.
The bar is much higher than 10 now. We're not winning 10 with Emory.
Probably can’t because he already signed his NIL to return to NC State.
