this will lock him down and most likely Scarlet.

also moves like this and with Ice being able to recruit outside of campus this will completely change the Miami + Local recruiting issues.

the negative press the program was getting from the likes of Luke and other community members will fade away.

You want MIami to be able to handle the likes of Genron? well you need the likes of Ice and Kevin Beard putting a full court press on him and only then people like Gendron will align with Miami.

Boom! Huge Silver Lining for me in this situation. Sam Bruce is definitely the leading type down here for the 2016 and having him 100% locked in will help him recruit others locally to join.

Don't want to start a Genron thread, but if that does happen, I think it would be rare afterwards that we would lose a recruit. Doubt he would side with Miami though, he just seems to be WAY to black and white to change his views.

we need some former UM guys coaching some high schools down here. as long as they are replaced by more former UM players, i'm good with that.

Slave Trader only aligns with $$$$. Ice and Beard will have to fight him off, not get him on our side. I think they can stand their in that fight. We will never be able to play the $$$ game unless we join the SEC.

Its about time we start bringing in guys from that 2000-2003 period who were part of the greatest team ever assembled.

This is cool and all...

But do you guys wanna fill our staff with a bunch of old players or would you actually like to have some good coaches?

Everybody keeps saying they want this guy or that guy to coach at Miami just cause they were good PLAYERS. There's absolutely no correlation between playing ability and coaching ability.

I want a few ex players for recruiting purposes but we can't fill our whole staff with these guys. We need some developers.

Anyways, carry on.

Kevin Beard is not a coach. I do want a former player like Beard because of his legitimate ties to South Florida.

Carry On

He's replacing Ice's role on the staff so he won't be coaching

Nor is there a correlation between Beard's job and coaching.

JMO but I think Wildcat is also referencing the Ed Reed, Ray Lewis etc posts we constantly see around here

Wasn't referring to Beard per say...

More so referring to the obsession of bringing former Canes on to the staff. Some people on here want coaches who have done **** in high school to come in here and be DC's, LB coaches, DB coaches, etc. just cause they wore a Cane uniform.
