YES!!!!!!!!!
He's by far the most athletically explosive LB we have...
He had a lot of doubters on this board, but if go back & check those threads you'll see a familiar name telling yall that boy is going to kill it by his Red Frosh/Sophomore season.
Every game he played in he immediately came in & made an impact, vs Bethune he lead the team tackles & had the highest defensive PFF grade & vs La Tech did the same thing, small sample size but his upside is sky high.
He plays so fast diagnosising & locating the ball carrier, but what he has more than anything is phenomenal change of direction & recovery speed. There were a few plays vs LA Tech where he initially shot the wrong gap but immediately flipped, recovered & tracked down the RB & still got the tackle. He has high level sideline to sideline speed & his instincts are off the charts.
Kenneth Murray is a great comparison, he also reminds me of Patrick Queen from LSU who just got drafted by the Ravens, both are highly athletic Mike LB's in the 220-230lbs range with very good speed & active feet.
And even though he may be playing WLB this season, I think his upside will be best at MLB.
There wasn't much to crow about in any aspect of that game. Might want to cool the jets a little. I know you're a Flagg waver, but beating your chest about anything from that game is like bragging about shooting a load in your pants when a supermodel kissed you on the cheek.Guess who our second highest graded run defender was? Corey Flagg. Turn on the tape or shut up (not you) I’ve learned a lot of these guys only see the game as entertainment they’ve never had to watch tape or play or coach it. Flagg played a better game than any LB outside of Brooks
You're better than Jennings, so, yeah, the chances are anyone behind him is a better player.is this another Greg Rousseau situation where players who were clearly inferior were starting ahead?
if this is a trend that concerns me
I’m not beating my chest at all. Just not allowing the ignorance on this board to continue about a kid who will help Miami win a lot of football games. I promise if people just left it at his speed concerns I would be quiet. When you act like he’s trash I’m going to speak up.There wasn't much to crow about in any aspect of that game. My first thought was the Sedano's version of Shaq Quarterman but HB is a more positive comparison lol.Flagg somewhat reminds me of a HB BLADES. Bennie's son who played at Pittsbugh. He has the same type of ability imo
You're fighting ghosts. No one ever said he was trash. He's a highly decorated and accomplished HS LB. He's been a great football player his whole life. The jury's still out on whether he has the requisite necessities to flourish at this level.I’m not beating my chest at all. Shake the cob webs out because Spence was a lightning bolt out there.Sean Spence comes to mind
I think you’re speaking for the 10% of sensible people but I agree he’s done nothing, yetYou're fighting ghosts. No one ever said he was trash. He's a highly decorated and accomplished HS LB. We had guys beating their chests about Jennings when he won the starting MLB gig before the season. Now, look at him.
We're too quick to anoint and too quick to dismiss because everyone wants to be first. Flagg might turn out to be a great LB, but he's done nothing yet.
His first game was against Tebow, Percy Harvin, C.U.M. in the Swamp. Him and AB balled out.Shake the cob webs out because Spence was a lightning bolt out there.
