Sam Brooks

Said it before the game, while some dumbass wanted to play Jennings and Mccloud. Brooks cannot leave the field. TAC and Huff need to be playing over the other jags. Play them early and coach them up!!!! These ****ers want to wait til JR’s, play them a few games, then they end up declaring early.

Great Call! When I watched that happen in real time I jumped our of my seat and told everyone I was with that what we just saw is what has been missing on this defense for too long.

What is as obvious to me as the nose on my face is that this defense accrues absolutely no advantage in having McCloud, Jennings or Steed out there. There is no reason that Brooks, Huff and Cave shouldn't be getting all of the reps. I don't want to seem harsh but I dont see the upside to giving Flagg the boatload of reps he got Sat. He gets experience sure ok that's great but Flagg will never solve the biggest problem we have at the LB position, speed and range. You can magically give Flagg 4 years experience and knowledge of the system but that won't get him to the corner any faster. Brooks, Huff and Cave. Then next year we will have more speed and athleticism to add to that mix in Troutman and Chase Smith. Add Terrence Lewis to that and you begin to have the type of talent, speed, and depth that we should have at Miami.

But just imagine our boys being coached up by venerables everyday. I think everyone would be surprised at what we currently have in our lb room.

What you will begin to see is Manny lose the locker room because he’s showing favoritism. Players know who’s better and they expect the coaches to know that and to respond accordingly. By not playing the better players, Manny and the staff are treading troubled waters with the locker room.
That’s never not been a thing ever since manny has been in Miami.

McCloud has been the most disappointing person eyes on the defense. If I was manny I’m not sure if i allow him to take up that extra scholarship at LB next year. Thank him for his services but they are no longer needed

It's an ongoing problem and especially on defense. If you've been in the program a few years you're guaranteed a starting role. Ford, McCloud, Jennings, Carter, Ivey....when's it gonna be enough?

At 3 seconds in look at our DLine. Basically all stacked up vertically. We can't keep running this get up the field by any means ****. It works against lower tier teams that we can out athlete, but it will always fail against the big boys. We need our DLine to start taking on blockers and staying in their run fits.
Agree, unfortunately, we are stuck with this crap system as long as Manny is around.

Yes and no.

Occasionally some of those backups that we all think are better, aren't actually better. There are examples both ways i.e. Rousseau & Lingard

I'm with you though. Brooks needs to be on the field over Jennings at the very least

They don't even do that. They usually run themselves out of plays and then are too unathletic to recover. We've been needing a huge talent upgrade at LB for a long time.
We have talent in the younger guys. Brooks needs more minutes and I want to see what Huff can do.

I want to see the speed and athleticism on the field. I want to see the young bucks eat.

We'll see if guys like Brooks get more PT going forward.

We saw the same thing last year with Rousseau. He was just so talented that they had to make him a starter. He wasn't a starter until around game 5. I feel the same way about Brooks. It's so obvious thst he's more talented than both starters. It's not even close. I want to see Huff get more snaps as well.

I can’t agree more with everyone. Brooks needs more PT and I didn’t see Huff play at all. McCloud and Jennings are terrible. They are not athletic enough to play LB at UM.
