2027 Safety Board (2027 Edition)

Jaden Carey, Sherrod Gourdine, Jaylyn Jones, Andre Hyppolite, KJ Caldwell: these are five DBs that I feel will be ‘Canes. Lastly, we know there is staff striving for a 6’1+ blue chip cornerback.

Still alot to sort out imo. Not sure Carey is in their top group for an early commitment.

I get the sense if they are taking Gourdine that they are on the fence with Carey, I may be wrong there but for instance @DMoney hasn't mentioned Carey in a while.

Kids that I think AT THIS TIME are in the mix at all DB positions(and some of these may knock another one of these out), two way strong interest, best chance to take the 5 spots to be Canes

Gourdine
Gamble
J. Jones
Hyppolite
Caldwell
M.Williams
Z.Davis (I would have to think unless they are really against the re-classify, but that tape is a no brainer imo)
N.Johnson (per DMoney)
-------------------
Then the other names

Not sure where they are on the board:
A.Hall (I lean towards top group)
J.Carey (don't mind him, but I lean towards they may have others ahead)
K.Green (I lean towards top group)
Q.Davis
Nugent
Crumel
Loud
Osborne

Then of course they'll shoot shot with
Meredith
Telfair
G.Williams
Dobson
HFJ (Offense?)
Juju
Wright
Osborne (per D Money)

Other locals that definitely seem like backups (again, just my guess)
Moreland
Blackshear
Boyd

Then you have other out of state offers that I have no idea on:
D.Jones (NC)
Whitehead (Cal)
J.James (AL)

Gourdine, Gamble and Hyppolite I would bet on. I have heard Gourdine and Gamble will be Nickels, but I question them both being Nickels in the same class. I feel confident Gourdine will play Nickel.

If Alabama and Auburn want a Thompson player, going to be tuff to see him leaving the state. Fegans, Tony Mitchell, Trent Seaborn, Jermiah Alexander, etc. Clemson managed to snag Peter Woods outta there tho.

even more so with Tua's family running this.
"Raising Champions" is Tua's dad and he's tapped in with A LOT '27-'29 AL kids. and a lot of them being Thompson players.

I didnt realize to what extent Seaborn was not just connected but moreso APART of Tua’s family after just reading up on it real quick. He called him his son in an interview I just read.

Given the fact that Tua’s dad was about to pull Tua out of Alabama and put him in USC if he didn’t get to play; that'll be an interesting quarterback room to monitor moving forward. The fact that they took two quarterbacks in ‘26 and are lining up to take two quarterbacks ‘27 is interesting by itself.

That job is a pressure cooker. Even with the local advantages. He needs to win a championship for them people to really respect him.
