Saban to Texas ?

This could be the craziest off-seaon ever if Texas fires Strong, LSU fires Miles, UGA fires Richt, etc to join Miami, USC, SC and Mizzou already being open. That is a ton of big name jobs, and could result in even more jobs coming open at FSU, Texas A&M, etc.

Come on down Butch!!!!!

Herman ends up at Texas is my best guess.

people are ignoring the obvious. Herman's good buddy Mack Rhoades who hired him at Houston is AD at Missouri....he has already announced that they want Herman.

and i dont believe Saban will leave. Bama will hold onto Nick like a fat girl holding a candy bar.

The only reason Saban would leave is if he decides to fix the only black spot on his resume which is the NFL. Saban is loaded so a few extra mill won't change his life enough to make a move. What does going to Texas do for him?

Alabama could never win a spending war with Texas. Nevertheless, Saban is not going anywhere.

There is a real possibility Saban goes back to the NFL after the season, there are a couple of teams that will pursue him.

there is a better chance of Al golden getting rehired than nick satin leaving bammer

The NFL will not outbid Alabama. I grew up in GA 15 minutes from the AL state line which means the area I was on was split between Georgia, Alabama and Auburn. I have also lived in Dallas, TX, so I have seen the extremes of fans. The folks in DFW have money and will spend it to get the best coach possible. The fans of the Crimson Tide may not have a lot of money but they will rob a bank to keep Saban at Alabama. In Texas you have pro teams and lots of Universities. In Alabama you have the Crimson Tide and no one comes close to what they will do to win.

If you think Jim Irsay can't pay more than Alabama then there is no point in discussing any further. If an NFL team can pay a single player 20mil a year, how much do you think they can pay a coach?? Mind you there is no cap on coach salary in the NFL
