Saban calls out Miami while complaining about NIL

The NCAA has the legal ability to do NOTHING anymore ever to anyone. Their a governing body put in place by the university’s to protect their own interests. That’s DEAD! I’m curious to see if Congress try’s to save their wealthy friends. University’s are elitist institutions and will lie and cheat to keep everyone else down. It plays out on CNN every day under cover. It’s a very real political privileged move now to get them involved to “save” football. The great news for the ones most deserving of the money earned is, the constitution is alive and well. Athlete do the job and have a right to get paid. This isn’t a democracy, it’s a constructional republic is made up of 50 little countries and they all want their teams to win. It’s finally the perfect storm.
I think this idea that the NCAA is powerless is oversold.

After all, they have the power to decide who is even eligible to play in college football. You have maximum eligibility. You have to be a student. etc. Similar for Universities. Universities can't stop them from getting paid but there does not seem to be any requirement that they have to put them on the team.

Consider the scenario of a college player who has huge value in college but zero pro prospects. Tim Tebow for instance was a winner in college and would have a huge NIL value today. What would prevent him from saying he wanted to get four graduate degrees and playing college football for 10 years? Or similarly, what if a kid wanted to play for a University but had no interest in going to class?

Those are the powers that NCAA still has. They can't control the NIL but they still hold the one thing that gives the NIL value and that is eligibility to play.

Yes (Bryce Young Millionaire) and you can quote Saban because he told us. When recruits like Travis Hunter, guy like Ridley and the many poor Black kids with Cars they couldn't get credit for, Saban will be exposed for the crony he is.

You ain't lyin.

And when the pendulum swings, Travis Hunter could get paid millions to play out his Sophomore and Junior years at a contending P5 School.

Makes you wonder if Travis Hunter will play all 3 seasons at JSU. He's a beast and easily looks like a top 10 pick.

They are powerless against this because its the law. Thats the point. Maybe they can reinstate the transfer rule but all that would do is funnel more money to high school kids.

Sabag can be such an overreacting whiny *****/petulant child that this probably the perfect symbolic physical manifestation of how angry and sad he is right now...

Now do you guys see why Saban is pushing so hard for restrictions??

NIL being the Wild West chaotic open market that it is actually levels the playing field & throws a monkey wrench in the Monopoly that Bama has had on recruiting...

Notice he didn’t say anything about UGA or LSU historically buying players, why do you think that is?

Just remember, the two coaches who are the most against NIL is Saban & Dabo, so what does that tell you?
Florida players will lead to championships

That power is given to them by the university’s. They know they’re dying and soon the power five will form it’s own group and govern itself. They’re holding on to insure a paycheck. They won’t do anything to upset anyone. It’s over literally. We’re watching the last days unfold as we’ve known them. Legally everything they have is in peril. There’s a reason Emert retired.

Exactly. They're essentially one more inevitable major court ruling against them from being rendered extinct- at least in terms of major programs in football and probably hoops.

this guy is such a narcissist. Everyone who's been around the game knows what he does. It's not just bama, my friend said his son could get more money from a school like Ole Miss than a big ten school. No one does what SEC does and its because ESPN loves them. People go after miami, usc, and smu because local economies wont collapse if they get in trouble. I still say he might be a great coach in many ways but even though he won a chip at LSU. he was a 3-4 loss a year coach, then failed in Miami and comes to Bama and because the greatest recruiter ever?

Ninjah still signed the number two class though!! Puss as$ knows A&M gonna end his reign Lmao

I hope satan stays as loud about this as he possibly can. I can't wait for an ex bama player to open the **** of players talking about how much money baga paid them to play. Drag kirby, jimbo, dabo, and lsu right on into it. The $ec clearly sees their advantage going away. I can't wait for more multi millionaire coaches temper tantrums. They're gonna really show who they are now. The unintended consequence of NIL may be the exposure of the cheating that's been going on forever. I wonder how the average bama or georgia fan is going to react when they find out all those championships have been bought. Will they stay yelling $ec $ec $ec or nah? The old way only worked for a few teams, I'm here for the chaos that starts the new way. Let's see who starts crying when it's Miami and USCw in the playoffs every year instead of two $ec teams.

Of course they would still be chanting SeC SeC! It's like all these scumbag slimy pastors of megachurches that make millions and millions of dollars a year. They clutch their pearls and say "That ain't right, he ought to do the right thing and be a man of God." Yet, they are perfectly fine with the pastor of the megachurch they go to because it's "their church."

It's simple, it's called hypocrisy. It's bad if you're not a part of it or if it's not benefitting you but perfectly fine if you are a part of it and/or benefiting from it.

I don’t think it affects their relationship one iota. Mario is far enough removed from Sabag and blazing his own trail.
Wtf would Mario care about Saban now? Jimbo used to coach for him and he digging him out. People act like coaching for someone is being related or married to them. Mario be like f him, he knows we about to end that little party they got going on in the SEC

Agreed in that they'll be fine in trying to keep pace. What has Sabag so rustled is that they'll never again be in that small little group of cheaters granted lifetime immunity by Emmert & Co and have that YUGE advantage over everyone else. So Baga isn't getting left behind here but a BUNCH of other schools like us are CATCHING UP on a somewhat leveled playing field and Sabag HATES that.
This. It’s not like Alabama is getting left in the dust. They had the #2 recruiting class. It’s that they’ll no longer be light years ahead of the schools that weren’t allowed to cheat. The playing field got slightly leveled (for the benefit of only a few programs) and Saban is losing his chit.

We are now seeing open skirmishes between forces...

Surely Bama has at least one competent attorney in thier booster club? Nick probably should stop talking, although I'd love for him to keep running it. He clearly has no fear in what he is saying.

Sabag had nothing to fear in the past. He was protected by his crony Emmertt.
