Yep. A lot of schools have Coker era type 4 & 5 stars. Talented but a lot of times mentally soft type kids, thankfully our staff knows how to vet that out.Thank , 3 to 6 does the least with the most imo
I did not like Zaquan as a prospect, I did like Stubbs though until I heard he was running 4.9’s then I changed my name and went into hiding.Remember when this cat and Zaquan were going to be the future of the safety position at Miami?

I 100% got sucked into the Zaquan hype, then I saw him play those first couple of games and was dumbfounded. I know he was true frosh, but he was lost out there, like he was some walk-on soccer convert, not a borderline 5 star stud.I did not like Zaquan as a prospect, I did like Stubbs though until I heard he was running 4.9’s then I changed my name and went into hiding.
Same here. I really liked him and thought he was going to be a good one for us. He had all the tools. I thought he had good range and could close like a heat seeking missile. Yeah, he was just lost out there on the field. We were basically playing with 10 men on the field when he was out there. Brutal to watch.I 100% got sucked into the Zaquan hype, then I saw him play those first couple of games and was dumbfounded. In his defense, it was a Guidry scheme. That may have had something to do with it. I felt like the range in HS he had would not happen in college when everyone else around him got faster and thats exactly what happened. I did not see that on film with Stubbs idk why. Sometimes we cant see it, even the coaches get it wrong at times.Same here. I really liked him and thought he was going to be a good one for us. He had all the tools. Stubbs was definitely the more polished player and better prospect. Not saying Zaquan was a "project", but he had some work to do. Physically, he looked like he belonged on the field even as a true freshman.I felt like the range in HS he had would not happen in college when everyone else around him got faster and thats exactly what happened. Yup and thats a big difference at every position, how fast does it take you to start moving. Besides other good traits being quick in small spaces is very important.Stubbs was definitely the more polished player and better prospect. Stubbs looked like he could contribute day 1, but his first step and overall speed is an issue for him. His first step kind of reminds me of Corey Flagg. He recognizes the play, he makes the correct read, he begins to take the correct angle, but it takes him an extra second to get his body moving. Like his first couple steps are slow motion while everybody else around him already moving in a higher gear.
