I’d take this kid in the portal all day. I too watched him live, in more than just one game though, and I was impressed.

Kid took a bigger bag… we didn’t match guess he was salty we didn’t because he wanted to be here. good luck to him because NIL deals are important but the ultimate goal for blue chip kids is the NFL
He played Monarch and had a stat line for the ages, but it was all stupid stuff from Monarch.
He was a single high safety on the left hash, and Monarch had two verticles, QB threw it into double coverage. INT.
Slant was thrown after two pumpfakes. He made a good catch, but the ball was extremely late. INT 2
Screen was thrown backwards. Everyone stopped but him. Scoop and score TD.
Great game, but the QB **** the bed. Missed reads and blew the game.
I said this when he committed to us that he had a great game, but it felt like it was an illusion.

A lot of that was contextual. We had just wrapped a season where we failed to make the playoffs mostly due to our DB play. Stubbs flipped to our arch-rival and we whiffed on Pickett. In Portal 1, we filled the holes at CB and grabbed Poyser at S, but also lost Patterson. We didn't backfill with Thomas until much later. So there was a deep sense of frustration around missed opportunities for several months. Not to mention we're still super thin at the position.

Not to hate on him, but he seemed spooked all game. The first play was a badly overthrown slot fade, and for the rest of the game, he was just off.
