Is Thomas Brown the recruiting coordinator?
Interesting hire. Not a huge fan of the move, but oh well. Let's hope Richt made the right move.
U dont even know what position he was hired as but your not a fan? GTFOH
If it was for DB....which only makes sense then I absolutely am not a fan of the move. How has hiring high school coaches worked for us in the past? It's a gamble, hope it pays off, but I would have felt more comfortable with an experienced college DB coach.
Rumph is a rising star in the profession. I don't know if you can compare him to Beard or Hurley.
With all do respect, Ice was "a rising star" as well.
I'm curious to who is going to coach Safeties...
Todd Hartley

Todd Hartley
Did he play safety? And I thought he was our special teams coach?

Gtfoh ice was a rising what? If yall would take a second to do research before running off at the mouth. Only thing ice was ever considered good at was recruiting & relating to players. Rump is considered a rising star because he is VERY TECHNICAL regardless of heritage he worked national camps for soldinger teaching technique to DB's on an elite level. He's considered a natural coach. Ice has never had that going on because he's never been elite himself at anything beyond coaching booker t. He wasn't even coaching his natural position at UM so how can he relate???
It's simply the Miami way culturally
It's how the entire city operates.
"I don't **** with it until everybody else ****s with it or at the bare minimum somebody who is deemed to be reputable ****s with it" is the mentality
"Different strokes..." I guess
Someone quoted Chad Morris in this thread, I can't find it.
Chad Morris coached in HS as a HC from 1994-2009. Then he went to Tulsa.
Does anyone see a difference?

He's coached safeties before. Seems like he'll be ST/S coach.

naw. At uga Hartley was basically the head recruiting guy. Not sure if that translate to here.Is Thomas Brown the recruiting coordinator?
Chad Morris killed the Game as OC at Clemson right out of HS....
Never hire a HS coach to work for you in college
It's a CIS Myth

So a head coach winning multiple high school national championships was not elite at anything? Stop working things around your narrative.

He can't be against hiring a high school coach? Let us know when its ok to have an opinion douche? I'm assuming he isn't coming it to coach QBs.

Yeah one is coordinating an entire offense. The other is coaching CBs.
That is the only thing, yup. Congrats!
I would like to add that Morris was a HC for 16 years before he went to TULSA.
Intriguing - if Rumph is just coaching CBs, this is the guy I want coaching safeties from Diaz's old staff: Tony Hughes - Assistant Coach - Mississippi State University Bulldogs Official Athletic Site - HailState.com
Why do some of you "hope" he won't be hired for DB coach? I am confused
This guy played at a high level UM, and he played Corner AND Safety in the NFL for a long time. He understands the game and the nuances of playing the position as well as anyone. He can coach technique at a high level, so I am baffled why some won't like this hire.. He is exactly the kind of man you want coaching DB's.
World of difference between playing at a high level and teaching at a high level. Works both ways.

a well connected poster said on another site that he expected diaz to bring over at least one guy with him from MSU
