If even Al Golden would have a less than 5% chance of losing to a team you schedule, don't schedule that team.

No more Bethune Cookmans, no more FAMUs or FCS teams, except maybe North Dakota State. No more FIUs, Arkansas States or FAUs either. And very rarely if ever Toledo.

Tune-up games, every school has them. This year we should be very happy we have two cakewalks to start the year to get the new QB in a rythym and have him build some confidence.

The problem isn't the tune up teams but the fact that Miami will go on the road to play them.

Tune-up games, every SEC school has them. We should mindlessly follow other team's bad ideas. This year we should be very happy we have two cakewalks to start the year to artificially inflate our record and build some confidence in Richt, kind of like the confidence we built in Golden in the first 7 games of 2013

FIFY.

The fact that we're playing at Arkansas State and Toledo makes those games all the worse. But truthfully we shouldn't be playing those games at all. Either at home or on the road.

Wrong.

Do you want us to be the only P5 college program that doesn't have a tune up game?

Bama has the same exact type schedule we do in 2017.

That's good enough for me.

Clown idea from a clown porster.

OP is more right than wrong. And yet there's people here shytting on him because he hates the fact that a quarter of our home schedule is wasted on Arky ST and the like.

We need ONE team per season that Golden had a less than 5% chance of losing to. Aside from that, he's right. No more multiple ghey cupcake games.

Until beating UNC and VT, which we can't even do, is impressive to a national audience and pollsters, gimme one cupcake, one lower tier P5 program and one legit program every year.

I've got a rule of thumb for you.

If you breath deeply and slightly push out it doesn't hurt so bad.

One cakewalk per year is acceptable. **** it's nice to have a game where the starters should be out of the game in the second half. Two conditions though, no going on the road for games against App St/Arkansas St/FAU like in seasons past and the other three non conference game should be against P5 schools.

100% correct.

One pasty a year is okay with me but 2 patsies is not. Let alone 3 patsies.

Go on Alabama's message board and bītch to them first. Once they've changed their scheduling come back here and get started on Miami.

We have 2 G5's and one FCS. Exactly like Bama and a bunch of other P5 schools.

In upcoming schedules, we'll have only one G5, and one FCS. While many other P5 programs will continue to have 2 G5's and one FCS.

Please don't make any more stupid posts until you understand the college football scheduling landscape.

You're right we should pay those schools a million bucks to beat them like all the other schools. Personally, I'd rather do a home and home. We don't have our own stadium so we'd lose money to play those crap games at home each year.

The going rate to bring Arkansas State in for a one time game is somewhere in the $1.75 million range. While some schools enjoy paying for that and making up for it in concessions and at the gate, is Miami able to do that in the current situation? Probably not. Personally, I think it's cool to see teams that are willing to travel to "odd" places. It brings a certain amount of attention from ESPN or whoever is broadcasting the game and viewers that we probably wouldn't get by playing the game in Miami.
