Ruiz teases big news

If you‘re going to “teasing” on Twitter you better be handing out FUQK YOU amounts of money
Mario himself is on the record saying we're blowing people out of the water on the NIL front so I'm personally fine with everything Ruiz has done.

Let's see what happens with Jaden Rashada as that might be the real "big boy" test.

Until then I'd probably suggest being happy about the amount of casssssh we have swirling around our once "poor" program.

Not to go too OT but how does LifeWallet procure patient medical history if it that data is highly decentralized today? Feels as though there would be limitations in their access to historical data.
Here's how they explain it. Once you give them authorization for release of information, they can request it from any insurance company and it looks like that's the route they chose. Had they chosen to get it from actual healthcare providers, there are often fees and using the SSN is seriously frowned upon and treated as a last resort.

My only push back on Rashada is that UM may not feel it is worth spending that much NIL money on a recruit.
I think there is the potential for NIL to divide locker rooms; not when TVD gets so much money as his production warrants it, but when a recruit walks into a locker room rich. This is not to say we aren’t going to be in the NIL game for recruits, but more so that I hope UM will spend its money more judiciously on recruits than Tennessee.
This will be an interesting balance.

For sure. It'll be an interesting sort of equilibrium to achieve. I do think we'll have to cross that bridge in a big way sooner rather than later if we're serious about big time QB recruits though.

I pulled Rashada's name out as a potential barometer because now TAMU is in the mix. What I neglected to add to any hypothetical would be Mario/the offensive staff essentially giving the green light to go "all-in" on a kid like that too. He'd probably have to be their consensus top of the board & gettable QB and I personally have no idea if that's remotely the case right now.

Doesn’t Miami have one of the newer basketball stadiums in the ACC?

It's like light bulbs went on everywhere and people decided this was our last best chance to bring our program back to national recognition. That it was now or never given the changes in the recruiting NIL landscape. Somebody, or everybody, decided it was time to make hay. That we weren't going to fade out like some major schools in the past. (Nebraska comes to mind) The city is poised and ready to jump back on the bandwagon. The momentum is building across the country. People notice when Jimmy and Ed and Ed O and Edge and the rest are showing up. They know we are coming. Only sanctions could stop us now. We know everybody will be looking at us with a fine tooth comb. (We're Miami) Let's stay super clean and shove our **** down their throats like it is 2001.

that makes sense. still feels like there are a few obstacles for lifewallet to overcome: 1) differentiating lifewallet from any other patient/health advocacy app or program that is out there; 2) overcoming objections from potential customers who are hesitant to share/release private health information (which could be for myriad reasons); 3) bridging the gap between the tool (smartphone app) and the tool's target demographic (elderly / less likely to be tech savvy).

not to say the company can't be worth billions, but i'm not understanding the inherent value; for comparison's sake, Health Advocate (started by former Aetna execs) was purchased for about $700 million about 18 months ago.

It was built in 2003 so it's new-ish but definitely not that new. It's also one of the smallest, if not the smallest, arena's in the conference.

Lifewallet is only part of MSP Recovery, the SPAC worth billions. If it's saving the insurance companies tons of money, they might be encourage to add it as a benefit for their customers.

That’s my point. Has any other school built a stadium since 2003?

I know we opened the "Ryder Center" around the same time Pitt opened the Petersen Center. That was like 20 yrs ago. Would have to think there's been a new build in the conference since.

that ties into the second point. health insurance customers with chronic history of health issues are going to be de-incentivized to share their historical medical information, as it will increase the likelihood their claims are NOT paid.

I think they would spend the money on Rashada if they had no viable backup options to TVD. With Jake & Jacurri, they might not want to make that huge investment as he’s probably not competing for #1 until Jake leaves.
