Ruiz / NIL

Man I didn’t even listen to that guy, I just saw those big horse teeth, and that dirty *** unwashed face, and the way he kept opening his mouth so wide like he was getting ready to huff on a big Johnson - it all screams chronic dork loser.

Also, it’s clear he’s never had any physical contact at all with a member of the opposite ***.

I watched it. He really was just parroting Rovell article. He did try to say Miami is tied to him and babbled something about stadium idea.

It was nice to hear that some other benefactors reportedly cut down the nets at the Final 4 besides Ruiz, as recent financial news on LW has really been disconcerting, with more negative stuff Sunday and today. Yes, guys like Rovelle have axes to grind and there are dogpoop hit pieces like this, but the changing landscape of NIL (eg; new law in Arkansas to allow high schooler to recv$ after signing, before enrolling) might make things difficult for Miami after the Katie-Cavender affair and news like this that seems to have some basis in fact although no checks are reported to have bounced...

...perhaps the worst of it is any word or rumor spreading that Miami-NIL is in trouble, such as this Iowa State podcast Sunday night:

...along with things like the big Gator-renege, Syracuse and Creighton, portal prospects are already getting hit with negative(Miami) recruiting about it. Even if rumors about Wong and Beverly and NIL-issues are total BS, filling the spots this recruiting season may be much more difficult than last year. Especially on the hardwood. Hope I'm wrong.

Miamis NIL is not in trouble. I don't care how often it needs to be said, its completely untrue and complete bull****.

That may be totally true, but your saying it is not gonna stop the negative recruiting arising from perception outside of CIS (and growing Ruiz legal and financial "doldrums"). We appear to already be seeing it in (lack of) portal success for the recent 5 basketball exits.

The season is like a few weeks over and people interpret a problem with NIL because players have left the program and they haven't been replaced yet.

I can't. I just can't. There's no point. Every ******* college is being negatively recruited. Every single one of them. Its not a disadvantage for Miami.

Which benefactors cut down the nets at the Final 4? UConn benefactors?

As for who cut down the nets at the Sweet 16, I have video of that, since I was there. It was players and coaches.

Now, if Coach L gave some benefactors a few pieces of the net, that's different.

My bad, it was in Kansas City, and yeah they may have just been on the court and were given honorary net pieces, which is still cool (and nice to hear!)

Yea, I'm sure Miami is VERY negatively recruited and has been for some years, its the norm. This is out of the norm though, when Iowa State decided to highlight "NIL issues - Miami" as do several others with no axe to grind that i just observed (and reported and commented on)

Ummmm, folks; wtf is going on?

luckily we don't depend only on him. he has money, but I do think his business isn't gonna work out for him. anything dependent on court cases for revenue just won't work out outside of a law firm model (even then, its a high rate of failure with a ton of ethics rules that limit your advertising in the conventional way compared to other businesses). he's getting into a tech play really but life wallet itself I don't see it. either way, like I said, he made his money off the merger. the rest is just gravy for him as he's set up for the rest of his and kids lifetime

You must be brand new to Miami Hurricane sports.
