IIRC, Wong (and Ruiz/LW) got around that "no renegotiation", which kind of blatantly sticks your tongue out to NCAA rules, by arranging other deals for Wong that did the trick. Not even addressing if Ruiz promised checks don't show up, there can still be other deals arranged with collectives, companies/boosters, and Maas and such. If there are i$$ues, I hope this is being done now... it's hard to fathom stuff going on lately isn't NIL-related and NIL-worthiness-related.

Ruiz also is being sued for giving stock or stock options as asset compensation, falsely (some say fraudulently) representing it would be $30-40 a share (today it's less than a dollar.) We may not hear of it if true, but I would guess that part of Pack's $800,000 may have been in that form...if so, poor Nigel (maybe literally).

His company was overvalued by the market. That's not his fault and it's not fraud unless he and/or his company provided false information.
 
We've set up the collectives at this point. We're fine. Allows the other big boys to swoop in and do silent work without the exposure of Ruiz.
