Wasn’t Ruiz the one ****ting on collectives and now we’re launching our own?
Yes.

This is reemphasizing for me a lot of the early thoughts on NIL, where many questioned what return boosters would actually get. I mean, God bless anyone who wants to spend $10MM a year on NIL because they love their school, but at some point, it just becomes bad business.
A lot of boosters all over the country have rushed into the space but I still question how long this will go on at these figures. Anyone with the wallet to support NIL would seem far too business savvy to dump money unless there's some financial reward for them on the other end. Any CPAs here know if these NIL monies offer some tax benefits?
**** lol wonder if we trying to get away from ruiz . He been awfully quite on twitter . Thats rare from him![]()
Sure. But it wasn't publicized. Now, we seemingly have an environment where every recruit has his hand out and expects to get paid. This raises the stakes financially for each booster. And, precedents are being set, i.e., players can now say, if so-and-so got this amount, then I am worth "x" amount. It seems so unsustainable but whatever, ain't my money. What returns were the SEC bagmen/boosters getting from the millions they spent buying players before NIL?
One of my first jobs was in the accounting department at the Miami New Times. Yes it is a legit publications. They have a ton of stories that either went national, were made into movies or documentaries. They broke the story on the Miami Dr that was supplying MLB players steroids.

Truth, BS, or something in between?
I believe they were originally believed to be against NIL rules. Now that so many schools have them with seemingly no punishment, you might as well have one.Wasn’t Ruiz the one ****ting on collectives and now we’re launching our own?
Dude, she is the daughter of a dear friend
Monica was hooking up with her dad's friend on Friends (some pun intended)
They have absolutely no idea how financially powerful Carol Soffer & family are. This **** always happens. You're plugging along in a thread...reading...learning...
...and then 3 or 4 of the most uninformed porsters on the board porst a bunch of nonsense in quick succession...
Good lord...
Yes, John Ruiz has commented quite a bit on Collectives THAT HAVE NO REAL BUSINESS PURPOSE. That is not to say that he has condemned every Collective ever, but you can **** well call into question a (Gaytor) Collective that signs a kid to a $14 million deal that (literally) requires a minimal level of a few dozen autographs per year. That's not a joke or sarcasm, that (a few autographs per year) was one of the primary legal "obligations" that Rashada had to perform to earn his $14 million.
And, yes, John Ruiz has been more quiet since the NCAA went ballistic over one phone call and one dinner during the recruitment of two pre-existing millionaire twin athletes.
As per usual, we have a contingent of mopey "keepin' it real" porsters who are going to belatedly question John Ruiz's finances and activity in a laughable effort to establish their board-skeptic bona fides. Whatever.
I'm sure some of these porsters are fans, so I'm not going to question their fandom. But we have some truly pathetic know-nothing/doubt-everything porsters on this board.

collectives are the only feasible way to keep NIL going imo. college kids unless you got the one in a million who transcends everything aren't gonna make businesses a lot of money overall.Wasn’t Ruiz the one ****ting on collectives and now we’re launching our own?
we know. we drive past it each dayThey have absolutely no idea how financially powerful Carol Soffer & family are.
Like happy you could maybe buy dinner? Traded a few thousand shares below 70 cents lol? This latest pump to 90 cents took some volume, it usually trades less than 50k worth a day in dollar value.
If a short got covered near the lows it’s a bad signNearly positive today was a big 1.5mm short being covered. If I had bought at .65 I'd be a seller right ******* now. But that's just me.
Forget the Indoor Practice facility....that's small beans.we know. we drive past it each day
