this is obvious, which further illustrates we are still mostly a **** show. right now we just have one option to get out of our own way, mario, and the only reason he’s an option is because he’s an alum. I am almost certain that if Mario wasn’t an alum, we would not be pursuing him or any coaching change this year…it’s pathetic.

If Manny is plan B, I worry about how well these people know their alphabets. He should be somewhere around Z.
 
So the next question is if it’s not Mario then who? Manny…still go after Lane, Stoops?
I’m out of ideas here

If you think the choice is between Mario Cristobal or keeping Manny Diaz, you're fooking dumb as fvck.

Mario is basically get the right of first refusal. If he says no thanks (and I don't think he is), then we're on to the next one, but it ain't Manny.

There is nothing wrong with Mario trying to do things right. He had a championship game to play two days ago. Perhaps he doesn't want these young men he's made promises to find out he's leaving via a NotesApp statement or something sent to the group chat. Or, perhaps he really has a tough decision to make and if he's going to make it, he needs everything lined up for it to happen.

This man was here for a brief minute after FIU and saw the utter madness that was our athletic department. I am sure he wants no part of that, as he didn't the last time and took the first train to Tuscaloosa before he unpacked his **** on his desk. If things don't like up for him...then, I am sure someone would like to get our money.

Yeah, they are willing to do anything except fire Diaz I guess. If he wasn’t a back up plan, he’d be gone plain and simple. He is likely plan B because people want to keep peace with the board members who still support him
 
It was reported at one time that Mario would never work for BJ. That Mario would need to see a commitment to the football program before he would come. We are hearing a lot of rumors right now but nothing official yet. Is Rad the key that would be the first official commitment (both financially and a respected AD) that would get Mario to see something other than a rumor? Is Rad the first domino that needs to fall in order for everything else to take place?

I think if we are in this same situation after AD is announced your pessimism would at least have a ground. Right now you are just letting emotion run wild.

I’m guessing you’re a Lane guy? Any thoughts on Oklahoma going with a first time HC in Venables over a proven commodity in Lane?
