Because he doesn't have ideal measurements. 6'3 - which likely means 6'2 - instead of 6'5. So many people get caught up on heights and weights (eg "Our team looks the part when getting off the bus."). But Bain has more moxie than all those guys. And he's functionally beast-strong (stronger than many players who bench more than him).

Same thing with Malachi on offense. There's certainly taller and faster WRs. But that kid just gets it done.

Finally made it back home after some lengthy travels and way too much "wetness" for one weekend (pause, of course).

Haven't watched the replay yet, but I thought I'd share my reactions from sitting on the ND side and watching things you may not have seen on TV.

First, ND was definitely trying to get Miami players to lose their composure. Perhaps they thought Jacolby George was still on the roster. But early on, there were several minor skirmishes (one where a ND player grabbed our guy's facemask), and it became more than apparent that the refs were not going to do a god**** thing to...

Just came here to post this too. That’s ******* ridiculous.

To get pressure without blitzing on 50% of his dropbacks against that OL when the VAST majority of the throws were very quick and well under 10 yard throws….just wow, man. Incredible. This DL is gonna kill people this year.

On the pick I thought he was gonna mush Carr and score. He’s so **** strong he should have.

He totally should have taken that opportunity to put Carr in the hospital. I know I would have. He played a great game but I was wondering why he went out of bounds so easily instead of lowering the shoulder (or even trying to spin and keep going--it can't be easy to tackle a guy like that for a small QB).

Bain will attract a lot of attention. Mesidor quietly had a great game too. He’s going to eat this year, with all the attention Bain will get.
