Rueben Bain commits to Miami

Im not sure they have it right, none of us do, but I believe they are closer than you. I dont think Bain is a 5 star, let alone a top 5 player. Next your example is nonsensical, and a straw man. Because I dont think Bain is a 5 star, doesnt mean I believe that example to be true. You do know that there are prospects out there that are athletic freaks and productive, and that SFLA is not the only place with top notch comp right? Sure they may not have the insane production numbers Bain has but doesnt mean they arent productive. This reminds me of the Yearby/Cook debates. Yearby dominated at the very same HS as Bain and was a very good prospect but wasnt Cook. Thats not to say Bain isnt a good prospect either, we are lucky to have him, and the recruiting services think **** highly of him as well, they have him top 10 at his position in the country.
I agree with you. I know there are other areas with great football. I’m not on the sofla 3 star > oos 5 star bandwagon.
But the past 3 years central has had a gauntlet. Maybe someone with a lot of time on their hands can run through the list of future p5 talent he’s cooked.

But the issue isn’t just the comp. I’m sure the bossa brothers had the same competition level.
So did Cyrus moss. So did Kyvon T.
But neither of them came close to Bain’s numbers. And that the difference. And those dudes were all 5!stars until they dropped moss.

Moss is a stud but his issue is that he maybe almost a tweener. He is light and right now couldn’t really play with his hand in the ground, he is a stand up rusher. I think there are some questions about Bain and whether or not he is a tweener. I think he maybe, but at the same time his motor and skill level can’t be discounted. Basically, I wouldn’t bet against him. He could end up another Freeney. The Bossa Bros and K Thib were guys you knew were going to play on Sundays from a physical standpoint. Honestly, the closest guy on our roster right now to them is Nyjalik. He is a kid with the talent and frame that pops on screen. Bain just doesn’t have those physical tools. Once again that’s no disrespect to him, he is a very good prospect, has clout in SFLA and we are lucky to have him.

Reminds of Terrell Suggs
Excellent comp. That Parsons' comp is a bit much. Bain likely tests athletically closer to Sizzle than Micah. The level of freak athlete that Parsons is on is rarely ever approached. Dude gets snaps at outside corner in THE LEAGUE.

You don't need to be a Hailey's Comet-Type athlete to be a productive DL on Saturdays or Sundays. Bain's motor, technical skill, and feel for game is his 6'6", 270 and lasered 4.58. Personally, I feel like most people underestimate how fluid he is.

I remember someone posted back in the spring or summer that the coaches measured him at 6'2.5"(.5" shorter than Suggs). No knock on TD, but this ain't like when Davis came outta Valdosta. If I'm making a logically optimistic projection here, I'll say a Rich Man's Mesidor. I'm praying he's a Larry Ellison's Mesidor...

The kid is a bat out of **** off the line. But my favorite part of these highlights were the more "boring" ones where he was asked to set the edge or move down the line. Kid has great hands and leverage. He's not just an ELITE sack specialist, Bain does pretty much everything exceptionally well.

Bain and Wayne back to back with Kelly and Moss. Now that's stacking. LFG.
Don't forget Collin acheampong(sp)!

Welcome to the U, Rueben! Really looking forward to seeing you bring the pain together with LT, Moss, Nyjalik, Wayne, Collins & others. That group has the potential to be as disruptive as our great DLs of the past. Go Canes!
