Keeping things close to the vest on an overmatched team?
^This. They have kept things very simple in these first two weeks. I expect to see the playbook open up against App State next weekend. They are much better team with solid coaching.
One thing I look forward to is 2 running back formations - Yearby and Walton in the backfield together.

I am confused. Why would we not RPO because of an inferior team? Also Brad is a jr, even if we are not giving him the option of fun play option depending on the defense why is he not calling an audible when there is 8 in the box? I don't get it.

This is always the excuse when we play poorly.
Richt admitted that FAU gave them completely different looks than they showed in their first game. They were expecting 2 high safety and instead got 1 high (thus 8 in box).
We adjusted at halftime to RPO and threw bubble screens and zone reads at them. It worked.
Richt desperately tried to get Kayaa into a rhythm in the first half, but Brad wanted none of it. So Richt had to dumb it down to make sure we finished FAU off.
But this whole idea that the offense is just saving itself and will look sharp once it runs more plays, is comical. Kayaa can't even make simple throws right now. We will see 8 in the box all year if I had to guess.

We were taking chunks out of FAU's defense with RPO's. That's why I got so frustrated when we got out of the spread and went into the I-formation.
In the spread it was like stealing candy from a baby. After we succeeded with the bubble throws FAU started widening their LB's out, leaving only 5 guys in the box, so we handed the ball off to Yearby/Walton for chunks. If they moved the LB closer to the box we threw bubble again.
THAT needs to be our offense and it's not even debatable IMO. We're deadly running that stuff.
Also thought Kaaya looked uncomfortable, in his defense, CMR did say he (CMR) erred, in not getting BK back far enough in the box. Although he was also getting pressure around the edges. I assume they are working on that right now. We'll see.Keeping things close to the vest on an overmatched team?

wait por favor. our coaching staff made an adjustment and people are complaining? this is progress, real progress gentlemen and gentlewomen. and that adjustment helped us overwhelm the opponent and win comfortably, even with a struggling QB. kaaya will overcome those struggles, but the coaching really helped us saturday, rather than impeded us, for the first time in many years. isn't that what a good coach is suppose to do?
we would have lost that game with golden or at least struggled to win to the bitter end.
