Gophers vs Wisco tomorrow. Going to my first GameDay ever (Gophers first GameDay.) It’s a complete blizzard at my house - it looks like day outside at 12pm. I grew up hating Wisco in all sports but the fact they beat Miami in 2 bowls has me especially mad.
Luckily I went to Madison, Wi last year and had 5th row seats to watch the Gophers win the AXE. 100+ year old trophy. We are even with Wisco exactly.
PJ may or may not be the real deal but the fact is - he’s making huge progress. He didn’t have a great record his first season but the whole state of MN is behind him right now like no other coach in 30 years. Meanwhile our hockey team is garbage (went to the game tonight).
For the pitchfork nation. The problem with Miami is everything everyone has said. The administration. The Gophers obtained a new AD prior to hiring Fleck.
PJ Fleck fired his D-coordinator after year 1. Let’s see if Manny has the balls. If that doesn’t work or doesn’t happen Blake & others need to go. Let the new AD pick the coach. Otherwise we are just recycling the same problems. When a team changes coaching every 2-3 years it is a black hole.
From a coaching standpoint - Miami is obviously a hot recruiting ground BUT are the coaches willing to deal with the diva bull**** that goes along with Sofla recruitment. Depends on the player I suppose
From the outside I find it unnerving that the FL schools deal with the decommits. No other schools have this problem.
Last - There’s just as many OL down in FL as in the midwest. 2 FL Soph starting for the Gophers. My point is that the argument the Canes have to bring in midwestern OL and DT is flat wrong.
The gophers have the best 2 WR in the BIG10 in Tyler Johnson and Soph Rashaad Bateman. Tyler went to MPLs north HS - I worked with one of his youth coaches. Winfield JR is arguably the best safety in college.

Always go Canes.
